Here in Toronto, some restaurants offer a very cool service, the Tasting Menu. Basically you make a reservation, ask for the special menu and then you will have the opportunity to experience much of the restaurant menu in smaller portions. The price of the tastings is usually a little higher than you would pay under normal meals, but I think worth it for special occasions.
I've done some tastings at some restaurants and now would like to share with you a tasting I ate at the Snack Bar Mata, which is a restaurant in South America foods I LOVE!
This tasting menu were 11 dishes, some individual and some to be shared with one person. Each tasting is different, and made especially for the occasion, the leaders choose who will serve that day, and of course, you can say what you like and do not like when booking to have no surprise.
