Hello Steemians,
welcome to the second part of our trip on the island of Sardinia.
On the second day of our stay in Porto Cervo we undertook a trip to the island Isola Maddalena. We drove about 1 hour with the rental car from our hotel in Porto Cervo to the port of Palau.
The island Isola Maddalena is surrounded by several smaller islands. To the east of the ferry line is the small island Isola Santo Stefano. In the picture we look back to the island of Sardinia and the port city Palau. In the foreground we see a few rocks of Isoletto Roma, a small islet next to the island Isola Santo Stefano.
The ferry crossing from Palau to the island takes about 40 minutes. Here we met the sister ship of our ferry.
After half an hour drive we approach the port of La Maddalena, the largest settlement of the island. We had the plan to drice once clockwise around the island. In the east of the island there is a dam to the neighboring island of Caprera, which we also wanted to visit.
In the picture below you can see the small beach Spiaggia Cala d'Inferno on the rough northwest coast of the island near the village Villagio Trinita.
At the beginning of a holiday, we always take a photo of our rental car. The FIAT, which we had booked in Olbia, already had a big damage to the bumper.
In the middle of the island there is the viewpoint Guardia Vecchia. From there you have a nice view over the island. Below a view down to the port of La Maddalena, in the background the islands Isola Santo Stefano, Caprera and Sardinia.
From the island of Carpeta I have unfortunately no pictures, but here again an impression of one of the bays of the island Maddalena.
In the early afternoon we took the ferry back to Sardinia. A last view back to La Maddalena and the viewpoint Guardia Vecchia on top of the hill.
At sea we could already see our next goal. The imposing and striking rock formation Capo d'Orso. Till next week!

Danke für die schönen Fotos und die Infos über Sardinien. Das sieht wirklich toll dort aus. Freunde von uns waren vor ein paar Jahren auch auf Sardinien und schwärmten davon :-) Habt ihr eine Rundreise gemacht oder Ausflüge von einen Ort?
Wir sind einmal von Norden in den Süden mit dem Mietauto gefahren, immer an der Ostküste lang. Hatten 14 Tage Zeit und im vorraus 5 verschiedene Hotels am Wegesrand gebucht.
Das hört sich toll an, hoffentlich kommen wir da auch bald mal hin :-)

Na, dass muss ich jetzt nicht verstehen. Es kann aber sein, dass es auch an diesem "Reputations"-Score liegt, dass der Kommentar nicht unsichtbar wird.
Ich tippe liegt an der SP. Aber sicher bin ich mir nicht. Man müsste einen finden mit hoher Reputation und wenig SP.
schaue mal nach edgarsart, hohe Rep, wenig SP, und auch noch aktiv :-)
Ging nicht. Eventuell sind die 900 noch zu viel. Ich bin gerade auch aus der Puste. Man könnte es auch umgedreht probieren. Hohe SP und geringe Reputation. Ich beobachte das weiter.

Your story of your vacation on Sardinia is beautiful and looking at the pictures I want to go there right away. Just back from a motorcycle trip to Opatija/Croatia myself, so I guess that's it for us this year... oh well, Bavaria is beautiful too these days :-)

Spannend die Serie zu verfolgen. Wie ist das Wetter im Norden der Insel?
Mein Traum ist meine Eltern eine kleine Wohnung auf Sardinien zu kaufen für ihren Ruhestand. Die müssen noch ein paar Jahre arbeiten, aber das währe perfekt wegen der Klima und den italienischen Still vom Leben, "la dolce vita"
Als wir dort waren, dann war es sehr warm. Ansonsten bin ich kein Wetterfrosch, d.h. für die Ganzjahresprognose müsste ich auch in Google reinschauen.

Yes, in the middle you can hike to some mountains, there you can be alone for some hours.
It's a good place to try the renowned cheese of Sardinia.
We often eated the cheese :-)
I would like to try those Carsu Marsu cheese too :P
My human's went to La Maddalena as well!
You need to walk quite a bit to reach the beaches. But it's totally worth it!
