I like to travel alone. I like the fact that travel makes me more friends to avoid being afraid of being alone than with the fear of being alone in the confrontation of some traveler. A 50's version of housewives is not for me, and I refuse to abide by this stereotype.
I'm writing this in a little café called Eva’s in San Ignacio, Belize. Not because I left my husband; I'm going after the activities that serve me, and eventually I will turn into someone who makes me a better partner, a better partner.
Being single, married or occasional, should not be effective in making things that make us happy. When I have the opportunity, I will continue to travel alone by calling home; I feel confident that my relationship and my choices belong to me and that no one can take these away from me.
