This is really interesting. I cannot believe my eyes. It seems they've installed some sort of a huge board game right here in one of the fortresses corridors! It revolves around the Battle of Sisak where regional Ottoman troops were brutally defeated. That battle triggered 100 years long war between the Ottoman Empire and Croatia (a part of Habsburg Monarchy at the time). This war served the purpose of stopping the further Ottoman incursions into Europe. (In the west it was Spain who defended Europe from the alike enemy.)

And the leader of Croatian army Toma Bakač. It is worth mentioning the Croats weren't fighting alone. They had very strong support of Austrians and Slovenians.
And defending troops (the rider in the forefront and the foot soldier).
The outcome is known. The fortress and the city of Sisak were successfully defended. A total victory with the casualty ratio almost beyond possible.
It's awesome that today we play games based on history and no one really dies. Al least in this part of the world...
