Travel Pro Places of Interest #14: Center of Interpretation on San Cristobal Island in the Galapagos! Part Four (15 photos)

in #travel7 years ago

Hey there my Steemit friends! Thank you for joining me for our continued education on the Galapagos Islands. I've been traveling the world and living out of a back pack for over eleven years now. I've been to so many places I literally can't remember and even get a little confused if I've ever been there before.

Here in the Galapagos on San Cristobal Island, this is one place I'll surely never forget. Further more I really enjoyed the museum here; The Center of Interpretation. What I found so special about this place is that I would learn all about the island from it's history to it's topography and more. I would then go around the island exploring and experiencing what I learned first hand.

I think the Ecuadorian government did a really good job with this place given it's generally limited budget. The museum isn't overly fancy nor overly extensive; but it's loaded with great information that any visitor to the island would like to know. So come along and let's have one last look at some of the exhibits in the Center of Interpretation on San Cristobal Island!

This place reminds me of national park museums here in the US. Most really are excellent and help you learn so much about a place.
I definitely agree that it is good to first learn from the exhibits in a museum and the go out and experience a place first hand - that's when the real learning happens and what you saw in the museum grows from being just "head knowledge" to something you'll remember for life.

Hello friend Dan, today's photos are very informative and a good reference for those who want to visit The Galapagos! The experience you share in your publications is very valuable for other travelers. Until next time. Best regards.

Looks like an interesting place. I like the map of the Galapagos. I didn't realise there were so many islands so close together. Who's the bloke in the top picture? Was that the young Darwin you mentioned before? The more I think about it the more I think it probably is! 😁

Yep. I am well thanks @world-travel-pro. Trying to take regular breaks away from the computer but not doing so well at it lately.
Must try harder! 😊
