This is the Petitcodiac River in moncton N.B, Canada. This river is fed by the Bay of Fundy which has the highest tides in the world. The river was choked due to a causeway that had been put in several decades ago to create a lake for the rich that lived down river. The people of moncton fought to restore the river and open the causeway and after years of struggle the people were heard and the causeway was opened. The footage you see here was taken in the summer of 2013 during the Super Moon and was the first time the river had ever been surfed. The man who led this endeavour was Anthony "Yep" Colas, world famous tidal boar surfer.
Since then the people have come from all over the world to surf what is unofficially being called the longest surf in the world. The causeway is currently being completely taken down and being replaced by a bridge that will allow the river to return to its once epic state. I used to hear the tales from my grandfather and others that remember about the rumble that they used to hear as the tidal bore came rushing by the city.
I'm very honoured to have been there. I was hired to take photos for his book entitled "Mascaret", I managed to also capture the event on video.
The ride begins in Hillsborough, New Brunswick and later we pick up the same wave further down the river in Moncton. I hope you all enjoy this this ride on what might be the world's longest surf.

PS. for those who are interested in seeing the short film I made about this day can see it in my videos. It's a no frills little short film that did win me an award at the FICFA film festival for best short.
A natural mall wave surfing machine :D
Yup except it only comes in twice a day.
