Kenya, located in East Africa. The landscapes of the different regions are very diverse. It is possible that during a trip to Kenya, you can enjoy the beauty of a fantastic coastline, but you may also have to cross volcanic and mountain areas, or go through the Rift Valley, or see green hills and just below plains, or even desert steppes and a forest. Kenya contains a bit of everything on the African continent.
The real wealth of Kenya, which attracts more than a million tourists every year, is without a doubt its incredible fauna. The country has some of the national parks considered the most beautiful in the world. Amboseli, Tsavo or Masái Mara are well-known nature reserves where you will have the opportunity to observe an extraordinary fauna. Lions, leopards, numerous elephants, rare rhinos to find, cheetahs, herds of buffalo, zebras, wildebeest, antelopes, giraffes, hyenas, crocodiles, hippos and many more.
All these documentary animals that have always fascinated you when you see them on screen, are here in Kenya. Cross the screen, become an actor of documentaries and come to Kenya to discover this wonderful fauna.
I will show you some pictures of the wonderful fauna that accompanied us
This medium-sized antelope is very common and easy to see and due to its abundance it goes unnoticed by tourists on many occasions. It is a gregarious animal that lives in herds of at least one hundred females. The males defend their harem in time of heat, but live alone the rest of the time. They are active throughout the day, fast and noisy, and stand out as great jumpers, capable of jumping up to 10 meters in length and 3 meters in height.
These little lions following their mother on a road where we were on the road in an all-terrain jeep touring the place.
And this was one of the most tender and sad things I could observe:
Just a few kilometers from the center of the capital of the Republic of Kenya, an East African country, there is a pioneer orphanage in the world, within the Nairobi National Park, where they welcome defenseless elephants. The little elephants receive cares and pampering there, until they grow up and are able to rejoin the wild herds. During that time, baby elephants, barely beginning to show their fangs under their trunks, have fun playing with the mud and drink huge bottles of milk prepared by their caregivers. These giant orphans choose a name for themselves and at the same time hide a sad story: their mothers have been killed to serve the illegal ivory trade, which results in the killing of an elephant every 15 minutes in Africa, according to the orphanage. This is a magnificent work of charity for these animals, and it is good to know that these places exist.
The zebras are as wonderful as ever:
Very common and easy to see, the Burchell's zebra is one of the three subspecies of zebras that exist in Africa. It shows some black stripes features between white spaces and its mane is long, erect and alternates white and black, coinciding with the color of the body's stripes. Thousands of them join the wildebeests in their annual migration. The herds have a maximum of 20 individuals, including one male and several females. Water is essential for their subsistence, so they can travel long distances in their search.
The ostriches are much bigger than how they are painted on TV
Huge elephants
It is very common to see and is present in almost all national parks in the country. He is gregarious, sociable and noisy, and lives in groups of 10 to 20 females with their young. In common feeders and drinking troughs, they are usually grouped in large herds. Male elephants live alone or in small groups of bachelors and join females in heat. It is the largest mammal in the world, with a long trunk, large ears and two fangs that grow throughout his life. Its coat is grayish and almost hairless, except at the tip of the tail. In general, they are peaceful animals that spend practically all day eating.
Wow!
