Are you into diving?

Hello!

Everyone I've met has these dreams of escaping the real world into an easier life with just beaches, margaritas, the sun and a dream job that can be incorporated into lifestyle. This is just going to be a rambling about things going on in my mind, so bear with me on this.

I go into "escapist" moods whenever I'm under a lot of stress; whether it is at work or in my personal life.

I only dove once in my life, which was in Aqaba; the only sea port my country, Jordan, has.

According to the dive master, we went down to around 14 meters or so (I can't remember the exact depth, but I'm pretty sure we went below the allowed limit for a unlicensed Diver). That dive changed me. It changed how I saw things. The peace and serenity down there is unparalleled by anything above water. I loved the feeling of being suspended.

So, next month, I'm planning on heading out to Koh Tao in Thailand to get my SSI Open Water, Advanced Adventurer and Rescue Diver licenses - all within a week's time.

Why Koh Tao? Simple! It's the cheapest I could find, I need to take a break and travel, and it has some beautiful beaches.

However, I couldn't stop there. After researching diving and dive centers, talking to my friends about it and not being able to get it off my mind. I started looking into Divemaster and instructor courses and internships. I know I'm way ahead of myself here, but, when you obsess about something, it just starts to become part of your daily life.

The title asks if you're into diving or not. I also want to know what your experience with diving was like and what you think of what I wrote up there? Any recommendations?

Also, during my Advanced Adventurer, I'm gonna do 5 specialty dives. What do you think these specialties should be if you've had any experience with those?
