Hello to everyone!
Today I will tell you about our second day of travel around Tanzania. About how the first day passed, you can read here: Travel around Tanzania. Arusha and Manyara. And today I will begin the story of a wonderful place - Ngorongoro national preserve.
Having woken up on the morning of the second day, I took a camera and went out to take pictures of the area. Immediately I came across a character who was walking peacefully along the territory of the lodge:
Well, since our company had a birthday girl, the good morning did not start with coffee:
After a good breakfast, we said goodbye to this lodge, loaded into our off-road cars and went to Ngorongoro.
On the way we met representatives of the local fauna, well, about landscapes, too, did not forget:
Also on the way we stopped at the village of Massayev. A little color, conversation with the leader and a presentation for the guests:
Local women have a lot of jewelry. As far as I understand from the conversation with the local, they can determine the status of a woman in society, whether she is married, how many children she has and other information.
A couple of facts about this reserve. This is a huge volcano crater, within which a unique habitat has formed over time. In this place, the largest number of cats per square kilometer, which means that we will see wild lions! Also on the territory of the national park there is the Magadie Lake, where you can see a lot of pink flamingos.
The crater itself in depth reaches 600 meters, and in the widest part its diameter is 21 km. We climbed long enough to the edge of the crater, and finally we opened a stunning view of the reserve:
By the very Ngorongoro, it was not possible to drive much that day. But we managed to see what we were driving for here: wild lions. While lay out only one photo of the lions, so as not to break the chronology of events. In the following publications there will be more cats =)
So, what kind of frowning fellow is this? =)))
And also see what kind of birds there are!
Also safari can not do without minor trouble. Fortunately, SUVs are full and there is always someone to help:
In general, the sunset was approaching, and we went to our new lodge.
The lodge we entered was the most unusual place I ever stayed. Structurally each room consists of a flooring, laid out on wooden stilts, and on top of the flooring there is a huge tent, only the bathroom is made of stone. In the floor itself, a bathtub is embedded, in which one could lie and look at the savannah. Elitnenko, however. I apologize for the shadow below the next frames, forgot to remove the lens hood from the lens.
Very interesting feature of this place. Since the lodge is in the middle of wild nature and has no fences, it is dangerous to move freely through their territory. Therefore, if you suddenly have to go somewhere, get a whistle from the box, whistle in it, and after a couple of minutes a real mass with a spear comes and accompanies you. Here's the photo on the box:
And finally, a photo from the bar with the promised skull:
It was the first day in Ngorongoro National Park, but the second one in Tanzania. If you have read this far, but have not seen the previous post, be sure to read it!
