Hey,

Today I am describing the most interesting places in Rome - the Capital of Italy.
First some information about this beautiful city.
Rome has about 2.7 million inhabitants. The city's area is 1285sq km. The town is located near the lakes and mountains. Rome lies on the Tiber River and the Mediterranean Sea. There are 119 museums in the city. The city has access to 2 airports.

The first thing to see is the panorama of the city.

And now some interesting places:

Coloseum.

The Amphitheater of Rome, erected in the years 70-72 to 80 n.e. by the emperors of the Flavian dynasty. It is a large, elliptic structure 188 m long and 156 m wide, 524 m high, 48.5 m high, with a spacious audience that can accommodate between 45 and 50 thousand viewers.

Arch of Constantine.
The 25.7 m wide, 21.0 m high and 7.4 m thick walls were erected near the Coliseum. The arch has a triangular construction.

Capitol
Hill in Rome northwest of the Palatine and Roman Forum, with two vertices. The ancient building of the Capitol was a fortress and sanctuary and a symbol of the city.

Basilica of Sts. Peter at the Vatican

Roman Catholic basilica at the Vatican, built between 1506-1626, on the site of an older early Christian basilica, the foundation of the emperor Constantine the Great. One of the four basilica of the larger Rome and one of the many papal basilica (formerly patriarchal). Sanctuary, one of the most important pilgrimage centers. According to tradition, the basilica stands on the site of the burial of Sts. Peter, considered by the Catholics to be the first Pope - his grave lies beneath the main altar.

Panteon

It is a circular temple on the Mars Field, founded by Emperor Hadrian in 125 BC on the site of the earlier of 27 BC, destroyed in a fire in 80 AD. The building of the edifice was directed by Apollodoros, later executed by the emperor.

Fontanna Di Trevi
The most famous Baroque fountain in Rome, in the Trevi rione. It was built on the initiative of Clement XII at the site of an earlier fountain designed by Leon Battiste Alberti in 1435.

These are just some of the highlights of Rome. There are so many more and to see them all would probably last a few days. Rome is a beautiful city and a lot of tourists visit it.
