Travel to Stolowe Mountains : Day 3 - Skalne Grzyby

in #travelfeed5 years ago (edited)

Hello lovely Steemians !

Today I want to present to you the third day of my travel in the Stolowe Mountains in Poland. After two days that I was already hiking through quite nebular and wet and rainy mountains, an adventure that I really really enjoyed, I decided to visit Skalne Grzyby, an large forest area in the Stolowe Mountains National Park that is about 2x2 km large and features some amazing rocks and boulders that were shaped over the ages into very beautiful and really amazing mushroom like formations.

The first three rocks that I present to you in this travel post show an unbelievable similarity to actual mushrooms and I was really astonished by that view I had. I already saw sleeping dragons, sitting apes, human heads and a tasty pierogi out of sandstone on my first day in Szczeliniec Wielki, but those mushrooms rock are really magical.

They are some more nice petrified mushrooms out there in the area of Skalne Grzyby, but also there are some trails located in that region most of them are quite well hidden in the forrest. Especially the first one I showed was really hard to find, and I only was able to find him by a coinsident, but nevertheless it is my absolute favorite in this area.

Skalny Grzyby is the third location that I show you in the beautiful Stolowe Mountains and I hope that you enjoyed those petrified beauties. Thank you all for reading my travel diary ^^

Stunning rock formation, unusual to find so many in one area of similar shape. Fairies, gnomes and elves in among the mushroom forest @adalger

Hehe, one day I have to go there during the night to ensure if there are any hiding there. This forrest felt so magical that something has to be there. I still speculate on dwarfs ^^

Welcome to Travelfeed.io @adalger. Yes, very nice post. There are some similar areas in the USA where the upper portion of the rock layers are harder, and erosion creates similar mushroom shapes.

Thank you @justinparke ! .. it is really amazing how time, erosion and simple water can influence thos massive rocks over time .. this leaves me always realising how old this planet is and for what short times we humans are only on it ^^

This rocks look shaped and very funny but extremely beautiful

Hehe, it is amazing how close they look to actual mushrooms ^^ .. thank you for stopping by ;)

You're right this mushroom-like stones really look interesting, do you know if there's any explanation for their peculiar shape?

As far as I know there was water running along them thousand of years ago. It was not covering them completely so that they became this beautiful shape. For me it is somekind of nature art, but mother nature took her time on it ^^

Yeah, but it was worth the time because the result was truly magnificent 😃

Very strange looking rocks hidden among trees! These are very old, ancient rocks that survived many thousands years of changes in that landscape! I bet you could find sea shells if you dig the ground!

Luckily, there are no ghosts there!

I believe that too. It must have needed thousands of years to shape this rocks into what they see here now. For them even humans would be a quick event to occure. I actually did not look for sea shells but I believe that you could find some amazing relicts of time in the ground if you would start diggin ^^ .. I did not feel any ghost around there, but I believe that there are still some ancient dwarfs tribes out there hiding in the whole Stolowe Mountains.

Yeah! Ancient rocks and mysterious land in Poland!
Funny, I was thinking about those dwarfs as well but I didn’t want to say it! I somehow feel this land has some sort of secret and these creatures or dwarfs live deep in underground caves!

Have you ever heard of remote viewing?

Those are some super cool rock formations! How far into the hike do you come across those?

Those rocks that I show here are spread all over the hike .. I saw my first rock about 500 m on the trail and the rest were popping out one after another .. some of those are actually quite hidden and you have to leave the hike for about 200 m to find them in remote places .. he first one that I show here for example was hidden 200 m away from the hike behind some bushes and trees and I consider myself super lucky to have found him .. if you would only walk straight alonge the hiking trail you would miss about 60% of them I suppose which is a pitty ^^
