May I introduce "Circus Conelli"
The Christmascircus on the Bauschänzli in Zurich. The Circus Conelli is celebrating its 36th première this year.
The special thing about this circus is that it completely dispenses with animal performances.
The Circelli Conelli focuses on acrobatic performances by international artists. This exemplary fact makes this circus unique and sympathetic.
The circus, founded by Conny Gasser, Joe Bürli and Herbi Lips, had its first appearance on the Zurich Sechseläutenwiese in 1982. Since 1992, the Christmas circus plays on the Bauschänzli at Stadthausquai.
Even from the outside, the Circus Conelli attracts magically! For many Zurichers, the Advent season begins when the romantic tent with the sparkling stars on the Limmatinsel is set up.
Former Mayor Josef Estermann once said in his speech: "The Circus Conelli belongs to Zurich like the lions to the coat of arms." There is probably no better compliment.
If you travel to Switzerland at Christmas time and visit Zurich, then do not miss the modern, great show at the Circelli Conelli. You will not only be amazed by the Christmas circus, Zurich is fantastically beautiful in winter. It gets dark early and with the illuminated shop windows, the lights and reflections on the water everything looks very romantic. A particularly beautiful view of the old town you have from the Lindenhof. This place on a small hill is one of the oldest places in Zurich. Christmas markets, Advent concerts and mulled wine ... the Landesmuseum turns into a winter wonderland of light, illumination and illusion ... Zurich is simply magical at Christmas time. Zürich Christkindlimarkt and Märlitram ... there is much to see ... Lake Zurich and the promenade invite you for a walk. The famous Bahnhofstrasse with its shops invites you for a Christmas shopping. In the next few days I will tell you more about the Zurich Christmas market.
