I took this photo this afternoon when we visited the amazingly beautiful Tal Mixta Cave. Armed with sandwiches wrapped in tinfoil, a bag of monkey nuts and a bottle of €3 Brut, we set out on our adventure. The sun beat down at a glorious 17 degrees, finally starting to toast our pale faces after a cold and seemingly endless winter.
As we laid out our inexpensive lunch, and began to take in the vibrant scenery, I felt at peace. Sharing a bag of salty snacks with my daughter, partaking in a few glasses of bubbles with my hubby @lumpa, the world seemed postcard-like. That’s when I saw it. Looking to my left declared that we were, in fact, in paradise. Looking to my right, a perfectly coiled lump of, ‘poo!’ exclaimed my excited daughter, ‘dog poo!’
Although nowhere is perfect, this place is pretty beautiful, even taking into account the dog poo. Check out our other photos below. It’s a must-see when visiting Gozo. If you have any questions about Gozo, I am happy to help!
Location – It’s not easy to find
You must travel through the village of Nadur and follow the signs to Ramla Bay. As you descend towards the beach, there is a right hand turn directly to the side of the cemetery. Go up the path, follow it to a crossroads and turn left. Take the left fork and park next to the house. Walk 10 meters past the house, and there is a hole to your left. Go and enjoy the amazing view!
This looks amazing, despite the poo! Will definitely have to go.
You will :) There is a table up there, so just bring a chair, ha ha
I love you, more than poo! :) x
So in Malta, the also have a crazy festival with fireworks .. do they still do it .. where they have to hit the bell tower of the rival town. We would LOVE to see it. Do you have some more info for us?
I haven't heard of that!! We live on the baby sister island of Gozo, so maybe the festival is just on the main island? If you are wine drinkers, there is an amazing wine festival here around 20th August. It's on a promenade overlooking the sea, one of the best view points on the island. Live music all night and tasty local wines to fight off the humidity, it's lush!
Sold .. haha .. yes it must be on the mainland ... they have a wine festival in Valencia, where they throw with grapes (like the Tomatina) and they fill the village fountain with wine .. ... our kind of thing!
No way!! I've tried a chocolate fountain before, a wine fountain is a natural progression no? :)
