RE: Havey’s Australia & New Zealand Adventure Part 19 – Abel Tasman to Franz Josef, South Island NZ

Yep! I came to the States via Canada. So, I am a citizen of 3 countries. My Dad and my sisters and brother and their families are still in Scotland. The Isle of Skye is our favorite place for scenery and all of Scotland is great for hiking!! There are loads of trails following the old railway tracks for those who can’t climb! Best time to go now is in the off season- too many tourist buses everywhere!!

Ha, wow, triple locked citizenship! And you're a steemian as well so that's 4 countries 😁

Well looks like I'll visit either in June or September outside of the peak season. People? Yuck! Haha

September is my favorite month to visit, but I go when I can to visit my family. There is a now famous route called the North Coast 500, which Jim and I pretty much did 25 years ago before the idea was trumped up - probably by Scottish Tourism. It is a fabulous drive up the east coast and along the northern coast, down the west coast and then back to the east! I would imagine that the best time to do that would be in September.

Hmmm I've not heard of the North Coast 500. I think Scotland may well have to be on the cards next year (spent all my money on Australia and NZ this year haha)! I do love a road trip so a two week holiday driving around Scotland's coastline sounds pretty damn epic!
