And this is how in today's post we will learn a little bit more about the culture of Romania.
It's May 11, and together with my sister and my cousin, we decided to meet each other and take a walk while we enjoy the perfect weather from the outside.
Due to different reasons we haven't met for a while so we went to the Herastrau Park where we spent a few hours on the waterfront laughing, talking and plotting a few trips together for the summer.
Being such a huge park, Herastrau has also many opportunities to what you can visit while you are here or what activities you can enjoy.
We haven't really came here with a thought about what to do but just to spend time together. But all the plans have radically changed when while we were walking around, we noticed a tiny house next to the water wondering what is that and how could we get there. And this is how everything started..
The "Dimitrie Gusti" National Village Museum it's not just a simple museum but one of the biggest and oldest from Europe.
The museum was built in 1936 on an impressive area of 14 ha filled with about 380 monuments, 60.000 objects in heritage collections, and over 250.000 archive documents pertaining to the village and its traditional life - everything completely original!
Even from your first steps at the museum, you will be welcomed with a map which shows you the paths to different things you can visit while you are here, but before that, you will have to pay a little tax at the entrance which is about 1-3 euros depending if you are a student or adult. (the students benefit for discount)
If you are not from Romania, don't you worry - there are always guides ready to translate for you and guide you along your journey, making sure you will have a memorable trip to the museum.
Along your trip, your eyes will be blessed with beautiful tiny houses from different areas from Romania surrounded by the fresh nature which completes the landscape just right.
As you can see in the picture attached on the left, the architecture is also an important aspect which will fascinate your glance.
Even though many houses look just old and similar to each other, you will be surprised to discover that none of them is alike with the others, each one having something very special than the rest of the houses.
Some of the houses will show you how the butter used to be prepared decades ago, some will just present old interesting tools, some will show off the traditional clothes from different areas and so on - each one of them definitely worth a visit!
Even today while I was enjoying this place, I met about 4 groups with foreign tourists - which made me even happier to see so many people interested about the culture from Romania.

The doors of The National Village Museum are always open for curious visitors, the schedule Monday: 9.00 – 17.00 and from Tuesday - Sunday: 9.00 – 19.00.
Don't forget your camera! - as you won't have to pay any tax for taking pictures or recording the marvelous place.
Due to the beauty presented in the museum, this place attracts annual over 800.000 visitors from all over the world.
Considering the people who visited the little piece of heaven, we remember some persons of great importance like: Queen Margret of Denmark, Laura Bush (2008), Prince Akishino and Princess Kiko of Japan (2009), Queen Paola of Belgium (2009), Jill Biden (2014), Leka II of Albania (2014), Prince Nicolae of Romania (2014), Prince Charles de Walles of UK (2017), President Emmanuel Macron of France (2017), Martin Luther King III, Queen Sofia of Spain, President Mauno Koivisto of Finland, President Richard Nixon of US, Hillary and Bill Clinton from US, Lyndon Jhonson, the indian prime minister Indira Gandhi and more to come.
The noble museum is located on the Street Kiseleff from Bucharest, Romania - and to get here you can whether use the car which you can park right in front of the museum, or use the subway or bus.
Many people consider this place rather a natural park than a museum, due to the beautiful place where it is situated, on a very green area - the shores of Lake Herastrau.
The museum has 3 entrances and no matter which one of them you choose, you will be blessed with lots of beautiful things to be seen once you pass the gates.
At least one or two times per week, there are different temporary exhibitions which are presenting to the tourists many prestigious collections which are 100% original.
Among the activities you can enjoy while your visit, you can enjoy fairs, folklore shows, theater, and many more.
But if you are visiting this place, make sure to have enough time to spend here as the museum is huge and would be sad to not see everything.
In the end is not about the hours we spend in a place while we discover it, but about the memories we create and what we are bringing home - to our soul.
It really was a pleasant discover for today and it's been pretty hard to pick the pictures for the post as I've took like 224 photos - just imagine how many beautiful things are waiting to be seen!

You talk we can taste there some tradicional Romanian food, tell me your 2-3 preferences about that... and i will be able to imagine (or google it...) about how is the tradicional Romanian food... :-)
