Our recent trip to Aurora is worth it. It is one of those trips that I will cherish. I am not enthusiastic in the beginning, but I really enjoyed it. I might have been sleepless on my our first day, but I have the energy to stroll around.
Let me take you back to how the trip went.
The Balete Eco-Park
Our first stop was the Balete Eco-Park where we saw the oldest Balete tree in Asia. It is 600 years old, and was about 65 meters tall.
Baler Town Park and the House of Aurora Aragon Quezon
At the town park, you will see some historical places, and some monuments. One is the official seal of Baler. Another one is the surfboard monuments, which the town was known as surfing spot, and the Baler 400 Years monument.
The residence of Aurora Aragon Quezon, the wife of President Manuel Quezon, is just close to the town park of Baler.
Baler Hanging Bridge
Baler Hanging Bridge is something to visit as you cross to the other side of Tibag-Sabang River. You will also see the mouth of the river to Sabang Beach.
Ermita Hill
This is a historical landmark as Ermita Hill is where the 6 families sought refuge as a huge tidal wave ravaged the town of Baler. Those six families became the parents of Baler people.
Overlooking Baler Bay and the town from Ermita Hill.
Hiking in Dilasag
Just close to our accommodation, we climbed this mountain and harvested some coconuts.
Dibulo Falls
Dibulo Falls is actually not in Aurora Province, rather in Isabela. It is about 100 meters high. The waters of the falls are very cold.
To get to Dibulo Falls, you have to trek (or hike) in the mountain, and pass over some rocky streams.
I am aiming to go back someday in Aurora. Or maybe, visit some other places.
