Throwing steel balls by your friends' heads while drunk trying to impress cute young girls seems like a great idea to me. I've played this on Nintendo Wii, but the real thing is very difficult.
If you lose , then you have to put in 10,000 kip or about a dollar into the beer fund. The girls who serve the beer could be models if they lived in Thailand or America, but cute girls are everywhere here in Laos.
I asked the girls if I could take a picture with them, but they said no. My friend Thon wouldn't take no for an answer and had our friend take this shot. I don't know if she's shy or has a boyfriend, but she really didn't want her picture taken. Some country folks around here believe that you capture someone's soul when you take their picture, but I don't think it's that.
You've got to get your steel balls as close to this cochonet as possible. Getting really close or even touching it is cool, but knocking the other team's ball the hell out the way is best!
Getting any movement shots with my old iPad is impossible. Every dude here was a cop or veteran, but they didn't know all phones can take rapid multiple shots with the camera by holding down the shoot button. I told them they all had machine guns that everyone thought were just some old school 24 film kodaks. Xay's the best player, so he never pays.
They play pétanque in France, but I don't know why it isn't popular where I come from. As a former soldier, I'd make everyone play this to perfect their M67 skills.
