Hahaha, he is right more often than I would like to admit :D
Hiking is for free and you can also hike from the village but it would be 1500 m increase in altitude which is a hike that I couldn't do with my hip. It was to pay for the mountain train and the ski lift together...

Now the entrance fee makes sense, I thought it was rediculous that you had to pay to hike.
