Mawa Ferry Ghat is the major transportation center of Bangladesh. It connects the Southern part of Bangladesh to the other part of the country via Padma River. And it remains year after year.
I'm from other parts of the country so I didn't have the chance to have a ferry ride. But last weekend we decided to visit this place to see how the place looks like. Also, the food in this place is very popular. That was another reason for a foodie like me.

This is the place. A huge path is there so that different vehicles can go easily on the ferry. From motorcycle to heavy truck every vehicle was on the line to pass the Padma river.
We didn't take a ride on the ferry as it takes hours to reach another side of the river. We were just roaming around to see how things go here. You may not feel facilitated by the view. It was messy, full of dirt everywhere, noisy. But this is what it is.
Then we moved to a nearby place where the government is constructing a huge bridge, to make an alternative to this ferry transportation.
You can see the bridge is almost visible. It will take another year, maybe, to finish this bridge. But the great thing is it will easily connect the southern part of my country to the other part. People can directly pass the huge Padma river by different road vehicles within a few minutes.
You can see the contraction work is going on. It's a massive place. The area is restricted, not open for all. But we got permission to visit this place.
And then we moved to enjoy the special food of Mawa ferry Ghat. As this place is near to the mighty Padma river so Hilsha fish is very common here. Fisherman catches Hilsha fish in the river and sells in the local market. The price is very reasonable there.
There are several restaurants that serve fresh food. You can choose which fish you want to have and they will prepare them instantly in Infront of you.
We choose this Hilsha Fish!
This is how they cut the fish!
And, then fry it for us. The whole process was done in front of us.
The place was overcrowded and a little messy. But the time and money we spend totally worth it for sure. We really enjoyed our meal.
So this was my whole day. It was a hectic trip, we moved from here to there. But it was quite a different adventure. That's why I enjoyed every bit of it.
