So after all the history lesson i decided to do something light, my pea sized brain could only take so much of information. A 5000 year old civilisation tends to throw information at you at a rate which most human beings would find over whelming ! My guide Mahmood Suggested we go for a boat ride on Nile.
Here he is :)
The trip showed me the green side of Egypt. It has most of the natural flora and fauna that we find in most countries. The landscape was pretty rich as you can see below.
Mahmood made sure we stopped by a "fruit garden" to taste the fare. It was a beautiful experience. Its kinda surreal for most of us from the city to actually see the trees on which the fruits we eat on a daily basis. Our ignorance is lay bare open !
Once you entered the garden you could point out to the fruits you would like to eat and they would make it available to you. The rates were quite nominal.
(I have shared this pic before in my culture of Egypt post, But felt it was relevant here. )
This is a special kind of Hibiscus found in Egypt. It is very therapeutic and is consumed as a drink by most of Egypt.
This herb can be consumed as Hot/Warm hibiscus Tea or as an iced Sweet refreshing drink on a hot summer day. I choose the latter :)
You can also find the odd nile crocodile taking a break from chilling out in water to chill on Land.
Lesson - Variety is the spice of life !
And Finally as you can see the grand sight of Egyptian Civilization today From the Nile River.
Rural Egypt
Cairo Skyline
Thats a beautiful beautiful picture of Egypt enjoying my presence. I choke up overtime i see this tremendous picture !
