Hello, my dearest friends! Among many Crimean cities Theodosia stands out for its unique architecture, interesting and rich history and an abundance of attractions.
The first thing that guests of the city see as soon as they get off the train or bus is a magnificent temple, which catches the eye with the splendor of its decoration.
This building in front of the Theodosiya bus station immediately attracts the eyes of curious tourists with its snow-white buildings and Golden domes burning in the bright sun.
Temples in Theodosia were erected not at the direction of the authorities, and built on the savings of residents and patrons. The construction of the temple worked Vasily Ksenofontovich Vinogradov, an ordinary headmaster.
For the construction of the temple in 1892 their savings gave the famous scientist Vasily Lapshin and engineer Nikolai Mezheninov, who in those early years founded the first railway in Feodosia.
As you can see, this temple does not have a single dome, but there are five small ones, which is a distinctive feature of Russian Church architecture.
The basement has a considerable height, and the walls are separated by corner columns. Pay attention to the carved "kokoshniks", located around the perimeter of the roof and even in the upper parts of the snow-white walls.
After the Soviet government decided to close the Church in 1937, the Church was in ruins and only in 1999 the restoration of this historical monument began.
Today it is still beautiful, and inside the temple there are many wonderful paintings and icons.
On the facade of the building there are many memorable fragments from the Holy Scriptures.
Very correct and wise words, in my opinion. The external elegance of the temple is combined with an abundance of beautiful decorative fragments and decorations both on the facade of the building and inside it.
Being in this temple, you immediately feel a surge of energy, warmth to the parishioners.
There are a lot of painted scenes from the Bible in the Church. Perfectly matched and artistic ornament, architectural design of the vaults, the premises and the Church altar.
The plan of the temple is an equal-sized cross, and at the top is a beautiful belfry with a small colonnade. You can go up there through the portico on the West side of the building.
The whole belfry is decorated with snow-white sculptures of saints, angels and icons. Everywhere so clean and tidy that delights the eye.
Every weekend residents and guests of Feodosia come here to help: who plants flowers, who whitewashes the facade, and who just cleans the vast territory of the temple complex.
Colors very much and all require attention.
On the territory of the temple there are many statues, there is a gazebo in the Greek style, where believers can always relax.
Lives here and such elephant with very kind blue eyes.
Has found and their favorite lions :-)
But what is this ladies, I did not understand. Maybe one of you will tell me.
Perhaps some nymphs or goddesses? And the outfits were all real, sewn by the nuns of the temple.
When you cross the threshold of the temple just a feeling of a holiday.
Flowers around apparently invisible, everything smells and smells, birds compete with the Church choir in discord.
More and more pilgrims come here every year.
Such beauty must be seen with your own eyes. I am sure that you will have only positive impressions.
Enjoy your weekend.

Great work, @singa! So, is life in Crimea better with Russia... or Ukraine?
I'm far from politics. I Just love the Crimea and the sea! And when it was the Ukraine I did not go there )
Oh? So it's better with Russia? At least for you...
Yes! I am very comfortable to get to the new bridge. fast and cheap!
Looks cool!
We are still waiting for the bridge between Siberia and Alaska though...
