There is a beautiful secluded beach down as Watson’s Bay called the Camp Cove Beach. It is not the most secluded in the area as it is accessible by car, but it is quiet and scenic, with views towards the Sydney Harbour. To get there, you drive all the way to the end cliff street, which is pretty much as far as a car can go towards the Watsons Bay Headlands. Alternatively, you can drive to the end of Pacific street which led you to a small carpark. Park there and chose the path on the right side to access the Camp Cove Beach. The beach is very small but the atmosphere is relaxing. The back of the beach is actually lined with mansions which have direct access to the beach. May be one day I can get rich enough to live in a mansion like this. It was a warm autumn day, and there were quite a few people sunbathe there despite being a weekday.
While it was cloudy the bay was calm, and the sand was soft. As we walked along the beach more of the Sydney harbour came to view, with the Sydney city skyline visible at a distance.
At the end of the beach, there is a small kiosk, a path leading to the headlands, as well as a small shed, its purpose not known, standing about 10 meters out in the water. There is a ladder on the platform that led directed into the water, although it was too cold to try.
The view here is beautiful. The curved beach with the shape of a crescent moon, the crystal-clear water with gentle waves lapping onto the rocks, and the beautiful skyline of the Sydney harbour. It is hard to believe that such a beautiful gem exists so close to the Sydney CBD.
@stabilowl, 棒棒哒~~~
Its a nice little area. I've gone scuba diving here a few times but the last time something happened with the bulk of the marine life and found so many remains of discarded sea urchins all over the sea bed from illegal harvesting at night.
Wow that it not cool at all. Do you know if the urchins grow back or did they destroy the population?
My dive buddy reported it to the authorities but haven't been back down there since. There is a living ecosystem down there and those activities destroyed them turning it baron in that spot. Just over 70mins wondering around the seabed and barely saw a fish in sight which was a little depressing to see. They do take some time to grow and may be recovering by now.
Love the town beaches in Sydney. Nice write up.
Cheers! Sydney beaches are very nice indeed, it's just a bit far for us from out west. So we don't go too often.
Is it always like that? It's a weekend and no people around. It would be nice to swim and own the beach lol!
Oh, keep dreaming. Dreams do come true :D
It would be nice to own the beach. It was weekday and it was autumn, so I am not so sure if it is always this quiet
