Beautiful places of Rive Gauche

in #traveling7 years ago

Do you want to know why Paris Bohemians, artists, writers and intellectuals preferred the atmosphere of reve Gauche to the more conservative quarters of the right Bank? I walked along the colourful streets, parks and avenues of the left-Bank districts (Rive Gauche)

Parc Montsouris (Parc Montsouris)
Park Montsouris is one of the four largest English gardens of Paris and was arranged by Baron Haussmann in 1869. This is a very beautiful place and a great platform for autumn photo shoots. 15 acres grows nearly 1.5 thousand different trees. There is also a picturesque lake where you can watch the life of birds: ducks, geese and herons.

Shakespeare and the cafe company

A small bookshop, where often gathered Parisian masters of literature, has long served as a working office at the time little-known Ernest Hemingway. Runs the shop to this day. On its shelves you can find very interesting publications. The nearest neighbor of the bookstore is the same name cafe, where you can look for a Cup of coffee.

Chapel of Saint-Chapelle (Saint-Chapelle)
Saint Chapelle is one of the most impressive Gothic cathedrals in Paris. It is located on the territory of the magnificent castle-Conciergerie prison. With its relatively small size (35 to 11 meters), the Church is ready to impress everyone with the splendor of the decoration and colorful stained glass Windows. The area of the latter is 600 square meters, and enjoy their beauty is best on a Sunny day.

Pantheon (Pantheon)
The Pantheon is beautiful in any weather and from any angles. A pompous example of French classicism is located in the fifth district, a few steps from the educational buildings of the Sorbonne. Initially, the building was built as a Church, but eventually became a tomb. Within its walls lie the ashes of the most outstanding people of France: Voltaire, Jean-Paul Marat, Jean-Jacques Rousseau, Victor Hugo, Emile Zola, Gaspar Monge, Curie, Alexander Dumas, etc.

The Luxembourg garden (Le Jardin du luxembourg)

The Luxembourg garden is a real delight for the eyes, as well as an excellent place for walks in the fresh air. Due to its beauty, the former Royal Park is one of the most popular attractions of Paris and a favorite vacation spot for residents of the capital. And no wonder: there is certainly something to see.

Latin quarter (Latin quarter)
The Latin quarter is famous today primarily for its wonderful streets, where you can enjoy wandering for hours on end, periodically looking at local cafes and bistros for a snack and recuperation. One of the most famous streets of the Latin quarter — Rue du chat quay fishing,

Saint-Germain-des-Prés (Saint-Germain)
If after exploring the Latin quarter you still have the strength and desire to wander around the reve Gauche, explore the streets of the Saint-Germain-des-Prés quarter and walk to the Saint-Sulpice Church. By the way, the Luxembourg garden mentioned above is part of the Saint-Germain-des-prés district.

What interesting things can be found in the elegant and sophisticated Northern part of the sixth district? First, beautiful architecture. Secondly, there are many art galleries and antique shops, the wealth of which will be appreciated by all fans of beauty. Third, the abundance of bistros, cafes and restaurants. Among them — the famous "Les Deux Magots" and "Café de Flore". Finally, the Orsay Museum, where you can admire the view of the right Bank through the glass of a huge dial.
