Hi, I'm Mike and this is my blog.
Contrary to the title this is not so much a travel blog but, what I hope will be, a great story about my three life passions (traveling, macroeconomics and blockchain technology) colliding. My idea is to take you with me as I visit new cities, areas, and countries. We will explore the local culture, get a better look at what drives their economy and discuss how blockchain technology will almost certainly rock the countries core.
Traveling:
I am certainly not alone when I say that traveling is my passion. Few people can resist that travel bug. Even people that are initially reluctant to leave their home and comfort almost always fall in love with the challenge, joy, excitement, fatigue, and jetlag that comes with learning firsthand how the rest of the world works. The perspective that you can gain by traveling is almost incomparable to anything else in this world. It lets you see all the options live can provide... The cultures, the people, their history, and culture. Seeing the "bigger picture", so to speak, allows us to understand how you relate to everyone else in the world while. I think the most interesting part is the impact of every choice you make where you are has a direct impact on 1000s if not 10000s of thousands of people. (Think about everything you have ever bought in your life...) The direct impact of that purchase could possibly influence hundreds of thousands of people.Macroeconomics
This subject ties in nicely to how traveling has impacted my life. Having the opportunity to travel to many different countries, cities, and towns allows you to see the inner workings of what drives their lives, economy and ultimately shapes their culture. Having an understanding of how far-reaching a local economy can be and the impact and drive that activity can have all over the world is important if we are to tie in my third passion. I believe we are witnessing the greatest technological advancement the world has ever seen and it will completely change everything we currently understand about economics (Marco and Micro) and how humans interact and trade.Blockchain Technology:
I chose this term instead of "Cryptocurrencies" even if it's not as sexy I believe using cryptocurrencies limits our discussion. While I believe cryptocurrencies will someday replace all fiat currencies, the possibilities of blockchain technology go far far far beyond the simple idea of money. What we are talking about is what blockchain tech allows us to do... To be able to decentralize the world. Enable access to information to even the strictest of countries, giving new economic opportunities to every country in the world. Finally, it could be our cultural and religious differences as well as a general distrust of others that will help with blockchain technology and help bring more information while reducing wealth gaps.
I hope you all enjoy my posts and get something out of them. I look forward to exploring the world with you and discovering each places impact on our everyday lives and how a new wave of tech could possibly change everything!
