Hello my Steemit friends! Today is all about wine. I enjoy drinking a glass of red wine or two but I have been struggling to find good affordable wine during my time is South East Asia.
So I was very excited when I found out there was a winery four kilometers from my hostel! We hopped on some bicycles and made the short ride to Red Mountain Estate.
I have been told (but cannot guarantee the accuracy of the statement) that Red Mountain is the only winery in Myanmar owned by Burmese people.
Either way I was excited to try some wine. First stop - the tasting area.
For 5000 Burmese Kyat or around $3.80 USD you can sample four wines.
Even though I am not usually a white wine drinker I really enjoyed the Sauvignon Blanc with the Syrah coming in a close second.
After the tasting we bought a bottle of the Sauvignon Blanc and moved to the terrace for a nice view over the hills and the lake.
A lovely way to spend an afternoon!
Thanks again for stopping by, upvoting, and commenting. More from me soon.

Thank you! I have to say I haven't tried much wine from this area. But now I am encouraged to seek out some more.
