A small montage about the day trip to Chernobyl and Prypjat I did in August 2017. It was quite an interesting day, so I thought I would do a video about it. You also can read my long post about it if you want to:

Wow. Fantastic. It is so amazing what happens when you take humans away from a place, it bedomes so serene and the planet begins to take it back. I have so many thoguts about that place. A question or two if I may.
Thanks in advance. Also great shooting and use of music. I did not want it to end.
Thank you so much for your kind comment. Yes, it is such a perfect place to observe the process of nature fighting back human creations. A lot of your questions are answered in the post I did about my trip. I will link it here again for you: https://steemit.com/photography/@lichtcatchtoby/let-s-take-some-photos-in-chernobyl-traveling-toby-01
Maybe you do not have the time to read it right now, so i am going to answer your questions here as well:
There are still a lot of places where you are not allowed to go. For example, look up "Red Forrest" on the Internet. It is still one of the most dangerous places on Earth when it comes to radiation.
Right now, inside of the 10km zone, people are only allowed to stay/work for 15 days in a row. Then they have to leave for 15 days again. A few hundred people actually returned to their abandoned old homes though. I unfortunately do not know how long the exclusion zones are going to exist.
Because we were accompanied by a solider who was using a Geiger counter.
It was only a one day trip unfortunately.
On the most part it was really interesting. Especially the abblondend Kindergarten was something I have never seen before. I was tragic, scary and interesting at the same time. Also Prypjat (the ghost town right next to the reactor) was just spectacular. I could have spent ages there, but we kind of had to rush trough :(
I hope you are happy with all the answers :)
Yes and thanks your answers are perfect. I will go back and read your post. Sorry I did not see the reference to it previously.
I thought there might be places that were off limits but I also thought that perhaps things had cooled down to the point where you could go in for a limited time. It makes you wonder about all of those pacific islands where the US and others exploded atomic bombs when testing. They must be off limits for the next 200 hundred years.
Yes there is an eerie feeling I can even see in your video especially the kindergarten.
You know the reactor in Fukushima has had a similar fallout I am told but they have downplayed it so much because Japan does not want the negative press. There is still radiation leaking even today. From what I read it is leaking into the ocean and contaminating marine life that goes around the world. They do not expect containment for at least another year.
This is the difference I think between the West and the East. In the east, they deal with things and in the West they make believe it is not an issue and let people right back into the area. Then when people die they blame it on something else.
Thanks and I am following you to see more of what you are up to my friend. Have a wonderful rest of the weekend.
und hast du da keine bedenken gehabt, was deine gesundheit angeht? vielen dank. lg

I really enjoyed watching this footage, somewhat haunting and at the same time so beautiful. Amazing to see these images of nature taking over. It must have been quite a special experience. Thank you for sharing this with us!
