On this Tree Tuesday I want to share a few pictures of an interesting oak tree I hung out in on the Big Sur coast. This tree caught my eye in the distance as we were hiking on a trail overlooking the coast. I thought it looked like a nice place to take a break, so I headed towards it. It was a beautiful lichen covered oak with many large branches spread out, some perpendicular to the ground. These low branches made it easy to climb, and an awesome resting place with views of the ocean!
Perfect tree Tuesday specimen
Thanks, it was pretty cool.
Wow it sure is covered. i believe they say that means you have good air there.
Probably, right on the coast, far enough from big cities.
That is a great example of a mighty oak. Must be a couple 100 years old by the size of it.
You're probably right, at least a couple centuries.
