RE: Tree Tuesday

Very wise observation. We moved around a lot and, everywhere we lived that had winters, we went through one year with heavy snowfall as we imagined every winter there would be. Then, every other year would have just enough snow to be a pain in the ass.

Sort:

Yeah, for me, snow makes winter magical and enjoyable. Without it, the cold and lack of sunlight, coupled with rain, etc is just miserable after a while.

My absolute favorite winter sight is when there is a freezing fog that turns all the leafless trees white. When I last lived in the snow, I saw a family lug a sofa into the middle of a snow covered field and take a family photo with Pikes Peak soaring majestically behind them. I wish I had done something like that...maybe someday.

That’s funny. Did they lug the sofa back home with them too, or leave it behind?

When I was younger, back in 1992 I think, there was a massive freezing rain storm that coated everything in an inch or more of ice. It caused a ton of damage, but it was incredible to see.

Wow! That ice storm was incredible. BTW, they actually took the sofa with them.

That’s good to hear. I like hearing stories about families that put in work like that just to make one special memory. That’s great!

Yeah, that ice storm was something else.
