I came across this log a few weeks ago. A majestic tree, cut down in its prime! Its crime? Who knows? It was left to rot on the forest floor and yet I found beauty when examining it in its decaying state.
There is so much to look at here!
- The checks and cracks radiating out from its core.
- The growth rings which tell a tale of age and the amount of rain in a given year.
- The darker hue of the outer rings.
- The rough texture of the remaining bark.
- The moss which is taking its grip on it.
- The termite holes which have penetrated the area of the peeled bark.
This King of the forest is beautiful and majestic in its death state. The poor beautiful creature still so wonderful when you take the time to look!
Thanks for following me on my travels and I look forward to sharing my adventures with you.
Until next time,
@kus-knee (The Old Dog)
I like the topic you used here! It's death but beautiful! Great photography and having a great meaning! Just imagine if this tree was not dead at that time, how beautiful it is!@kus-knee,
Cheers~
Thanks!
This is for you.... made in Tuscany some month ago ;D
Lovely! Is that a heart? I think so!
Why not :-))))
Indeed God's artistry molding and texturing the log as he does you and me into something beautiful for all to know and enjoy. There are both the natural and spiritual elements here at work. There is someone I know who does mundane art exhibition for whom this would work nicely. Thanks @kus-knee.
Hahaha yes I know him too!
What I like most about your photography is that the photos you chose really DO illustrate the topic. So many others just choose random pictures that may or may not fit.
Happy #treetuesday
I love your photo!
Why would anyone cut down a tree and leave it in the forest? I don't understand that.
On the other hand those rings look great! I saw something similar today but that tree was still standing, only one branch was cut and the rings were visible.
Yes I don’t know why it was cut down.

Hello my best friend @kus-knee How are you.very excellent photography . I like it your great post my best friend. thanks for sharing your beautiful life.
Cool!
It really is sad... We see it often here. Some folks are ready to cut down every tree and pave the world!
"They paved paradise and put up a parking lot"
Certainly, it is a beautiful tree and full of history! It's sad that there are things with a lot of potential and they end up in the trash. This happens even with people. Let's stop the indolence!! It is not only he who sows who is good, but also he who does not cut down. I'll go with you and read you, @kus-knee.;)
Thanks!
You've got a good eye as many would just be passers by. I have a thing for trees myself but also in architecture. It is beautiful.
Those are two of my passions!
That photograph reminds me of the shape of an alpine horn @kus-knee. 😊
Now that you mention it.
@ kus-knee people never stop surprising us with their aberrations towards nature, still not enteineden that is a good not renobable
What a beautiful giant lies on the ground, how much beauty can be appreciated if one observes it

Hello dear sir,
Good afternoon from India, it's very sad that we behave like this, just imaging how beautiful this one and we destroyed it on its youth.
These are grand and great, helps us when they are alive and after their demolition they are still useful.
God bless you dear sir.
Thanks!
A beautiful post for the tree tuesday today loved the shot :)

Thanks so much!
It reminds me of a horse's hoof
Could be.
A good tree sir @kus-knee, but it's a shame because it's been cut down. What trees offer against material benefits and very little money ? while long-term benefits such as health and keep we far from pollution. What the human loggers are looking for ? they are very selfish. Proud of you for your attention to share the fact. God bless you
Thanks!
You are welcome sir. I have new post, mybe you want to see my post. And i hope and really2 hope you to give some correction with my photography. I'm sorry if you mind.
I wonder how long has it been there.
