Eventually everything will fall one day
This is a small sample of the sad scenario we have nowadays in the center region of Portugal: A lot of fallen or broken trees
About one week we faced Leslie storm and wind speed records were attained. Unlike Atlantic western countries, we're not used to have this major storms.
Luckly the storm only caused material and small physical damages.
Still, it's impressive to see this enormus fallen trees,
ripped of by the root that was suposed to hold it. Somehow this makes me feel small and insignificant in front of nature
It was only a storm, not an hurricane!!
These photos were shot earlier today on my workplace garden.
This is my submission to #TreeTuesday launched by @old-guy-photos.

Great photos and trees are also powerless in front of nature! Thank you @liliana.duarte
Trees **are ** nature, as are we. Trees are not powerless, they are adapting to their conditions. Their roots are not being given the space and nourishment necessary to stay there, so they are removing themselves from the equation. This will most likely cause downstream damage to the people and organisms that benefit most from the presence of the tree.
My hope is that people start looking at the entire ecosystem around the trees instead of just the singular tree when they decide what to do with the area. The trees could be replanted, if they can be given adequate space and conditions. In an area like Portugal, which I have lived in, this could be very useful, but it would also mean looking for natural water management solutions.
The climate is changing rapidly now. Unfortunately, we will have more and more storms like this.
Unfortunately you are right!
Unfortunately you are right!
Yeah, we gotta get used to it.
Ohhh wow I hope everyone is safe and sound.

by seeing a tree as big as it collapsed, I felt the storm was very large.
but fortunately there were no casualties in such an event.
