A Special tree

This is a post for Tree Tuesday hosted by @old-guy-photos and for this post, I will focus on a tree beside the Upper Duck Pond, here in Milford that is very special to one of my Friends on Facebook

I popped out for a quick walk around the Duck Pond and Upper Duck Pond in Milford today to see if the fall colors were coming out, and the colors are starting to come out nicely, I took a few shots of different spots which I have yet to edit so those will be for future post when time permits.

For this post I will focus on one this tree which I think is a Canadian Maple but I could be wrong.

This is the same tree from a different angle, and now is a good chance to explain why it has a special meaning to the lady I know on Facebook, and why I make a point of getting shots of it when I visit this spot for photos.

This Tree used to be in the front yard of her Mothers house and her mother was very proud of the tree, when her mother passed and the property was to be sold, they petitioned the City to have this tree be relocated to the grass are but the upper duck pond where her mother enjoyed walking.

The city agreed and here is the tree doing well year after year in its new home.

And here is another shot of it from another angle, it may not be the most colorful tree in this area, but knowing its history and significance to the family it is important to me to.

Aw, that's a beautiful story... and the tree is so beautiful, dressed out in Autumn colors... great shots!

Thanks I hope she and her family like them :)

They will certainly!

That is a special tree! very nice story. Looks like tree is doing and looking great :)

Indeed it is and its doing better year by year :)

What a great story @tattoodjay! And yes, it appears to be a Canadian Maple; their Fall colors are beautiful. That's so nice of you to take photos for your friend as well; what a beautiful memorial!

There a tree in Ontario, Canada, (Niagara Falls area) called the Comfort Maple, named after the Comfort Family who were 'famous' in the area. It's apparently 500 years old; We were there a few years ago. Check this out:

And that's me being goofy, but just to show you the sheer size of it!

Hope your friend's mom's tree stays there that long :)

WOW that one is huge, I visited Niagara falls, but I never saw this one

It's about 20 minutes outside of Niagara Falls :) Glad you enjoyed it.

Ok I did t go that far have a great day

Love the changing of the seasons. This is my favorite time of year.

Ohh yes I am the same I love the colors at this time, closely followed by Spring when the colors return after a long grey winter

Still a lot of green for this time of year. We’ve got very little color down here in Maryland yet. Hopefully soon!

It changed here a lot in the last couple of days, still not at peak but it is starting

what a beautiful photo, just love this one and oh how i miss the colors. simply Divine! :)

Thanks I was glad to see some colors out today

ya looks very beautiful :)

Isnt it just :)

yes very just

Love this @tatoodjay! The fall colors are really beginning to pop! That is so sweet they relocated this tree...so often they just remove them. Great shots

YEs I was glad to see some color today a few days ago it was still so green

and yes I am so impressed of the city moving the tree for them and doing a good job of it

Wow very special,,very beautiful...

YThanks kindly

That is just a terrific story. It's sort of amazing that a government entity would have that kind of response. It's pretty darn cool.

Thanks for the terrific photos and an even better story.

Thanks and yes Iit made me even prouder to have decided to move here when she told me the story

What a beautiful tree and the colors are amazing too!

Its a cute little tree and more colorful tress will be coming son :)

That is an awesome story and a very nice tree! When my wife and I lived at our old house I planted a small tree to hopefully one day give the house shade from the West side in the evenings. We ended up moving and I often wonder how my tree is doing. Is it still okay or did the new owners tear it out.

Thanks and I can relate to that, I planted a tree at my parents house and before I stopped flying every time i went back to NZ I would drive by the house I grew up in to see if the tree was still there and it always was :)

We all have some trees that are special to us, yours looks lovely even if it is not the most colorful one ;) I think it is cute 💚

YesI think Cute is a good word for it, compared with the trees around it, it may not stand out but its story makes it special :)

As soon as I saw the first photo of this post in the TSE summary, I knew it was taken by you. I just knew! ;0)

I guess I have a recognizable style LOL Thanks :)

Awesome click of this beautiful tree.
Loved the background scenario. The view is incredible.
i like nature and you capture it beautifully...

Thanks Kindly :)

That is a neat story, most trees that size just get bulldozed over without a second thought.

YEs I was very impressed with our city for doing this

Happy Wednesday friend the colors of autumn are the most beautiful, with their ocher and the color of fire.
the trees are splendid

YEs i love the colors of Autumn, Hopefully by this week there will be even more color

It's nice to see the fall colors :)

Ohh yes indeed they really came out in the last week, Hoping even more this weekend

So nice when a tree holds a special memory JJ. Great shots as usual and hope you do well in the challenge! Blessings!

Thanks My friend :)
