These 2 fighters are the General of the gods, they are performing dancing of gods.

Good day @mfblack here in Russia it's just usual Sunday and we haven't at this days something like carnival Sunday. But on the next week we have so caled Maslenichnaya week and at the next weekend we can have something like carnival.

Yes you wrote it correct!
You know main celebrating time will be at next weekend. But during whole week we follow (espesially in far parts of country) tradition which connected with cooking pancakes and have/visit guests! And as a final part of this week is a burning of scarecrow of Maslenitsa. What symbolizes end of the winter season.
And I think you are right and I need to create post about this tradition!

The big street carnival is only this weekend here in Patras. On Sunday afternoon is the big parade. A prequel was on Saturday evening. Since I don't know whether this will still be open after the big parade, this is my entry, from last night:
It's one of the many groups participating. You can see one of the main features of Patras carnival: whistles.
Will probably write a post about it with more pics tomorrow.
