Authored by @trucklife-family

Hello beautiful people!

Welcome to another TribeSteemUp Curation, where I (@trucklife-family) get to showcase some of the great Articles that the tribe members created and that really embody what the Tribe stands for.

The TribeSteemUp community was created by @kennyskitchen. It is a Community Abundance Generator, which supports authors who write articles that look at ways in which we can become more empowered and create a more peaceful and free world.

The authors who have been chosen to become part of the TribeSteemUp community are all writing content of high quality, and they all focus on topics related to the bettering of life, such as:

| Anarchy | Non-Violence | Philosophy | Veganism | Mindfulness |
| Community Empowerment | Love | Original Music | Esotericism |
| Healthy Recipes | Psychedelics | Truth | Permaculture |

The TribeSteemUp community also has 8 Pillars/Principles that each member has agreed to adhere by and you can find The 8 Pillars of TribeSteemUp at the end of this post

We have some new members in the tribe, some wonderful new folk that have been creating really awesome content on the Platform and it is great to have them within our community. Today I am sharing 19 articles that are all about inspiring us and motivating us to become more aware in our daily lives. Life is all about learning, evolving and being mindful in all that we do. By coming together and engaging with one another we can all share our wisdom and empower one another. We can create the world in which we all wish to live. Happy reading and remember to show your appreciation by upvoting and commenting. You can go one step further by following the TribesteemUp Curation Trail, this way way you are supporting all the great authors who are creating quality content.

Organic Frontiers - The Part of Organic Social Enterprise You Rarely See

image.png

@artemislives

'Social Enterprise' and 'Organic' roll off the tongue so easily, and the behind the scenes is rarely seen.
So this video is a tiny look-see at what it means to be a leader and a visionary - a creator. It means trial and error, in the dust. It means driving 4 hours plus each way on some hairy mountain roads. It means farming my child out with friends again. (Thank you Ad and Bo!) It means investing time, petrol money and overnight hotel costs.
It means communication challenges. Saw Diamond Khin, the English-speaking indigenous Karen project adviser (Director of Karen Department of Health & Welfare) whom I normally meet and consult with, is away preparing for the opening tomorrow of the new Karen Community Field Hospital along Thailand's border with Burma.

Zen reflections on NVC, hearing without judging

image.png

@revisesociology

The first stage of NVC is to 'hear what other people are saying' without judging what they are saying, and to try and connect with what emotions the person you are listening to is feeling, and to hear what their unmet needs are.
TBH I get the whole idea of why this practice could be useful, especially in a close relationship, within a family, between friends, in a communal living or voluntarist working relationship, or situation in which you might need to hear what people need so you can better understand them and work together, or just be together more effectively.
But where does this leave those of us who like our own space, like me? I can do days, even weeks on my own before feeling the need for human company.

We are walking pieces of Art - @naturalmedicine Art is Healing Challenge

image.png

@fenngen

All people are artists. Absolutely everybody has the power to create, to express emotion, to provoke reactions, to charm and to question the established. The only reason we hear some people say they aren’t creative or that they are no good at art is because they associate artistic talent with technical dexterity.
Art goes beyond technical dexterity. Knowing how to move your fingers with extreme precision and speed through a guitar fret does not create a soul moving song. Knowing how create perspective and shades does not draw a mind expanding painting. These abilities can help to transmit ideas but are far from being essential to art.

Experiencing two disasters and how they change people - #TribeSteemUp Bi-Weekly Question

image.png

@whatamidoing

Do we only shift our thinking when disaster strikes?
This question immediately brings me back to 2001 in America where I was just barely a safe distance away from danger, seeing lots of people whose lives who affected directly.
A month before the disaster of 2001, I was listening to one of my favorite bands at that time, RX Bandits, a band I still greatly respect.
2000, another shattered vision: the human race
Our self-destruct button has been pressed
Are we acting on morals
A malfunction of minds lacking decisive control
Are filled with a TV sense of life
Their lyrics had given me the guts to speak out my mind on consumer culture and the lack of empathy in society and so I was emboldened to share how I felt on politics for the first time. Of course my parents thought that I had merely been swayed by music that I thought was cool, but the truth was, despite only being in my early teens, these were thoughts I had for as long as I could remember.

Sunny Side Up aka Happiness is a Choice

image.png

@vincentnijman

Those who have followed me for a while on here, as well as my friends and family, know that I've struggled with depression in the past, even though I never got that label pinned on me. I'm not saying that the black dog is all gone now but I've improved so much over the last couple of years that just thinking about this change puts a smile on my face :>)
Talking about a smile on my face, just looking at the following collage, that I made a year and 8 months ago, for a write up called A Year in 12 Selfies - A Positive Post on Depression, tells the story, in a way.
It's easy to tell the difference between an attempt at a smile or a forced smile and a genuine smile, coming from inside. It might also be the eyes, not necessarily the mouth alone.

Yet Another Study Shows How Psilocybin Significantly Helps With Anxiety and Depression

image.png

@johnvibes

More research continues to be published showing the potential impact that psychedelic compounds can have on mental health treatment.A team at New York University‘s Grossman School of Medicine recently conducted followup research to the 2016 study which showed that cancer patients who took psilocybin noticed “significant improvements” in their levels of stress and anxiety.
The 2016 study was actually a follow-up of groundbreaking research that began at John’s Hopkins University in 2012. All of the studies have had very similar results.In the 2016 study, patients taking psilocybin along with therapy noticed “immediate, substantial, and sustained improvements in anxiety and depression and led to decreases in cancer-related demoralisation and hopelessness, improved spiritual wellbeing, and increased quality of life.”

Can You See Things Coming Together?

image.png

@taskmaster4450

Things are really starting to happen on Steem. We are seeing things going in many different directions which is a characteristic of decentralization.
I prefer to watch development over pricing action. Recently, we saw the introduction of HolyBread, which was developed during the bear market. In the first week, this has over 1,000 players. Ultimately, this added value to Steem even it is not reflected in the price of Steem.

Taking a step back in order to move forward - Moving mountains

image.png

@misslasvegas

Good evening/morning/night my dear Steemian friends!
It's been quite the week(s) again. It's funny because sometimes my mind can be so occupied and stress levels rise because so much is going on and I don't get much done because of it. Then there are moments where the average normal human being would get down on their knees and beg the universe to make things slow down for a bit and that's when I thrive! Somehow being busy to the edge of stress and beyond brings out the best in me.
Realizing that sometimes I need to take a step back and just 'be'
When my eldest daughter was about 7 years old, she was staying at her grandparents' house for the night. I was supposed to get her for a carnival party in the afternoon when her grandmother called me and told me they were at the hospital because my daughter had caught her finger in the door.

The Patterns That Connect

image.png

@metametheus

Looking for sameness within difference
Someone recently asked me how I could be into rock music, online gaming, natural therapies, Chinese philosophy, and science-fiction all at the same time. I replied, “if you can’t see the patterns that connect in those topics, then my answer wouldn’t make sense to you.”
I invited them to look into each of these topics and get back to me. I gave them a suggested ‘bibliography’:
Pink Floyd’s Wish You Were Here album
Lao Zi’s Dao De Jing
Frank Herbert’s Dune
Fritjof Capra’s The Tao of Physics
The film Contact, starring Jodie Foster
The link to create an account on Lord Of The Rings Online
This wasn’t in my opinion an exhaustive list, nor a particularly archetypal one, however I felt it worked as a sufficient starting point. I could have provided them with anything really — it’s just that they were the first things that came to mind.

Human Nature Versus the Environment.

image.png

@minismallholding

The house never seems to be tidy, these days. There always seem to be pots that need hand washing, because they can't go in the dishwasher for one reason or another. A build up of drinks cans from my husband and father sit on the kitchen side or the coffee table, waiting for the dregs to be emptied so they can be crushed and put in the storage bin outside. Rubbish gets dumped in the tub by the fireplace by those not sure whether it belongs in the waste or can be recycled.
My daughter tells me if I can get on top of it in g the first place, then it will be easier to maintain it by washing that stray dish straight after use, instead of leaving it to build up. But then I’d feel guilty about the extra water and detergent that gets used doing each pot individually, instead of several in one wash.

Imbolc - The Time Of Awakening

image.png

@trucklife-family

Winter gave us the opportunity to connect with our inner wisdom as we travelled inwards and focused more on our deeper self and our life's experiences. We mirror the cycle of nature, as the energy of the land travelled back into the earth. By following that example we had the opportunity to really explore what it is we wish to bring forth into this new year.
Imbolc invites us to plant those seeds that we nurtured over the winter months. Now is the time to bring them out into the light, as we connect with our intuitive self and begin to manifest our dreams.
When we go outside we can see and feel the earth stirring. The first buds are forming on the trees, as the sap is rising. Everything is reawakening and we are being inspired to become more active, more expressive.

Global Warming and Climate Change, What's The Problem and What Can Be Done?

image.png

@kennyskitchen

It's time we have a serious (non-hysterical) talk about Climate Change. This is a response to @upmewhale's writing contest: Global Warming and Climate Change, What Can Be Done?
Since I have already covered the topic of Climate Change quite deeply in my 2-part series back in 2018 (part 1 & 2), and just last week shared my own journey from believing the propaganda to looking for the truth I'm going to give myself a different kind of challenge this time around.
My goal in this essay is to provide a bit of insight into as many facets of the Climate Change conversation as I can, while keeping each brief. I'll be focusing on giving a few key points/questions, with various reading/video sources for those who wish to dive deeper into any one topic.

Mazunte Deposit Build - Creating Conditions to Work and Live

image.png

@stortebeker

As I mentioned before, I’m back in the friendly hippie beach-town of Mazunte, on the Oaxacan coast, for another construction project. For those who remember my theater on the beach posts from way back: Yes, it is the same group that’s building the Earthship theater. And no, the actual theater building is still not anywhere close. However, this year the plan is to actually finishing the construction of a side-building we started four years ago! It is going to be a multi-purpose structure, from classroom to garage, and most importantly a place to keep things safe and dry during the months nobody is on the property. This is also why it has been named el Deposito.
The Earthship inspired structure follows the tropical flower model focused on cooling, but the part about this building that really gets me excited is the green roof held up by reciprocal beams.

"Fountain of Youth" - Standing On Giant Shoulders

@creatr

"If there is magic on this planet, it is contained in water."
- Loren Eiseley
Breathing hydrogen?
Sounds like madness, you say?
Based on much research and the experience of others, breathing hydrogen does make you crazy... Crazy like a fox!'
After futilely wishing for a Brown's gas machine like this for several years, but being priced out of the market, I suddenly realized there was no reason why I couldn't assemble the components and build my own at a fraction of the retail price. I have done that, and this series of articles is the story of how (and partly why) I did it. While this is not a "How To" series, if you are keen to try this technology and if you are reasonably skilled with your hands, you should be able to imitate what I've done.
In this installment, I'll tell you what features of the AquaCure® AC50 I've chosen to copy, which features I've set aside (and why), and also some improvements I've implemented.

Hemp Falafel: Finally Nailing a Bean Pattie That DOESN'T Fall Apart

image.png

@riverflows

My mother is the undisputed champion of lentil rissoles. Since 1973, she has been making the most perfect rounds of yumminess, making my father emit little satisfied sounds as he munches down on what he declares his favourite meal ever, which is quite an accolade, as Mum's a kickass cook. You'd think that the ability to make said rissoles by her daughter would be inherited or at least taught. 'They're so easy' she says. 'Just cook the lentils, add...' and so on. Except, every time I've tried to make them, they've fallen apart in sloppy messes, either in the forming stage or as I fry them. Most rissoles or patties I make do. You see, I'm an intuitive cook - measuring precisely is beyond me, and Mum measures everything, following recipes in her folder of newspaper and magazine clippings and internet finds she's been compiling since the family became vegetarian in the 1970's.

SO MUCH FREE STUFF (Let's Get Something Done!)

image.png

@papa-pepper

Being frugal and thrifty, I recently came into a nice assortment of free materials. In this video, I share about a number of them and begin to work on a couple of projects around the homestead, putting our newest free resources to use.

Transending Karma - Understanding Enlightenment

image.png

@eco-alex

Detachment and equanimity are two simple words that can lead one on the path to surrender. Surrender is a blissful state that we can experience when we truly give up our Ego identity and embrace the whole of life as one unified creation. In this post I explain what these three words really mean, and how to attain them. If you have wondered what karma is, and how we can live a life without creating bad karma then this post is for you. The cycles of birth and death are a part of the game of life, one that we all play until we finally discover the key to the stairway to heaven. There are many paths to enlightenment, some are long and windy, some are steep uphill slopes, and some are breezy downhill runs. Surrender is the like a downhill run, and if you cho(o)se this path you are sure to transcend the issues and challenges that you have today. Surrender is a deep state of being that is a natural quality once discovered.

Prepare For a Psychedelic Journey with EFT Tapping

image.png

@eftnow

There is no doubt that psychedelics are a very interesting area to look at both for personal growth and for psychological and emotional healing. However, it is also possible for things to go VERY wrong during a psychedelic journey or trip. Or at least appear to have gone wrong in any case. This is why you need to correctly prepare for a psychedelic journey.
You can take some steps to enhance your experience and massively reduce the potential to have a bad time. These are quite well documented and I will summarise them in a moment. I’m also going to share a technique that is absolute gold to prepare for a psychedelic journey. This is whether for the first time or as an experienced psychonaut.

Brenden Weber | Panpsychism vs. Materialism With The Philosophy Guy

@innerverse

Brenden Weber is the host of The Philosophy Guy, a podcast that explores wise ideas, often in a pop culture analyzing context. In this host-to-host discussion, we look at the flaws in the materialist worldview and consider a variety of alternative cosmologies. We also consider the epistemology or moral lessons available to us by looking at intelligence in nature, the power of the individual, the ideas of thinkers like J. Krishnamurti, and more.
In the Plus+ Extension, we examine the mystical ramifications of the idealist worldview, riff on non-physical (a.k.a. alien) forms of independent consciousness, psychedelics as medicine, destiny, The Witcher, and a philosophical look at Rick And Morty.

A big thank you to @hungryhustle for creating the amazing infographic of the 8 Pillars Of TribeSteemUp and For @eco-alex for creating the tribesteemup banner and logo.
