Hello beautiful people!
Welcome to another TribeSteemUp Curation, where I (@trucklife-family) get to showcase some of the great Articles that the tribe members created and that really embody what the Tribe stands for.
The TribeSteemUp community was created by @kennyskitchen. It is a Community Abundance Generator, which supports authors who write articles that look at ways in which we can become more empowered and create a more peaceful and free world.
The authors who have been chosen to become part of the TribeSteemUp community are all writing content of high quality, and they all focus on topics related to the bettering of life, such as:
| Community Empowerment | Love | Original Music | Esotericism |
| Healthy Recipes | Psychedelics | Truth | Permaculture |
We have some new members in the tribe, some wonderful new folk that have been creating really awesome content on the Platform and it is great to have them within our community. Today I have included some of their work. There is a total of 19 articles/videos that are all about inspiring us and motivating us to become more aware in our daily lives. Life is all about learning, evolving and being mindful in all that we do. By coming together and engaging with one another we can all share our wisdom and empower one another. We can create the world in which we all wish to live. Happy reading and remember to show your appreciation by upvoting and commenting. You can go one step further by following the TribesteemUp Curation Trail, this way way you are supporting all the great authors who are creating quality content.
NVC Primer & Upcoming Workshop: Observation, Feeling, Need, Request & Natural Giving
@eco-alex
NVC is all about identifying our and others needs, and being able to communicate them clearly. The intention is to create the quality of connection necessary for everyone's needs to get met compassionately. ALL human beings have the same needs. NVC is another way of perceiving ourselves and others, with empathy and a heart based communication. It is based on the realisation that most of our conflicts in communication are based around trying getting our needs fulfilled, and generally speaking our current mode of communication is failing to resolve issues or improve our ability to have our needs met.
Reflecting On The History of TribeSteemUp
@kennyskitchen
I've been thinking back over the nearly three years since I launched the @TribeSteemUp account. There have been some pretty wild ups & downs, and the project has changed so much in that time that it is literally nothing like it was when I started it.
For the first 8 months or so, I think our upvote peaked at about $0.10, then less than 6 months later, a full power vote was closer to $125. Since then STEEM has had ups & downs, our delegations have had ups and downs, and the community itself has continued to grow, connect, and flourish.
Mindful Monday - Living a Simplier Life, Full of Joy!
@porters
When I set my intention at the beginning of the year, one point was to live a simpler life.
The step I was going to take was to de-clutter my life - my mind and my physical surroundings.
I have made a few attempts but never accomplished anything major - Does that sound familiar?
That is until...
I finally got the inspiration I needed. I'm not just doing a clean up, I'm doing a purge!
Where did this inspiration come from?
Natural Medicine Travel Packing: Homemade Deodorant
@riverflows
I never thought I'd be writing a hybrid travel and natural deodorant post, but then I never thought I'd be finally travelling to India either, so anything can happen! A few months ago I found the best homemade deodorant recipe, and made a trial tin to see how my husband and I survived using it. The verdict? We love it. After an initial few days of itchiness due to the bi-carb soda, my skin adapted and I found this deodorant lasts far longer than any store bought deodorant I have ever used. I was super happy with the scent, and have been raving about it to everyone I know, so much so that I have given a few tins away to friends who have loved it too.
Trees For Bees #3: Vernonia (Bitter Leaf)
@artemislives
Introducing bee keeping to indigenous Karen refugee & displaced people has me planning NOW and thinking about long term food supply for the bees in the years ahead. In the pristine jungles along the Thai Burma border, the wild bees naturally hibernate and live off the honey in their hives when there is little food about.
Our challenge is to extend those periods of flowering available food sources by carefully adding flowering trees around the edges of refugee camps, settlements and small villages, and community places like the grounds of the new Karen State Field Hospital.
The Race Is On And Steem Is In The Middle Of It
@taskmaster4450
This is not another post about the run that STEEM Is on today. While it tends to breed some excitement, the truth is that Steem is going along just like it does everyday. Will this run keep going or will the price return to its lower levels? I have no idea.
What I can tell you is that Steem is forging ahead from a development standpoint and is firmly entrenched in a bigger move.
We are involved in a race along with everyone else in the decentralized blockchain world. Even though there is some blockchain maximalism, the truth is we are all in the same boat. Our side is racing ahead in an effort to cut off the mega-technology companies.
How My Children Learn !
@trucklife-family
We all have our own ideas about how learning happens and for those of us who when through mainstream education, we may believe that the majority of what we learn has to be taught to us. Indeed our education was placed in the hands of others, where we were taught to listen and to obey.
Our introduction into structured learning, with the intention to set must of us up for a very structured way of life.
This may suit some. but it never suited me. I struggled within this system, where learning was expected to happen in the same way that it was taught. As though we are all made from the same cloth. With no room for exploration, no room to be different or unique.
Internet Fasting - Reclaiming Time, Focus, Productivity, Health and Happiness
@vincentnijman
A few days of introspection, as well of past experiences and plenty of signs of my body and mind to make a change, have made me realize that it's about time to do some Internet fasting ( or intermittent Internet fasting ), starting tomorrow.
I am getting tired of these waves of activeness and inactiveness, this constant lack of balance. My intuition is telling me to take more drastic changes, that hopefully lead to a habit of healthier Internet consumption, among other things.
These days, I'm going through my second 21 day Abundance ( meditation ) challenge in a couple of months time. I can't get enough of abundance, at least abundance of healthy things.
Earth Rangers Art of the Week | My Environmental Paradise
@thegreens
A few weeks ago, we acquired and equipped a Green Art Box that has been circulating among the Earth Rangers, giving them the opportunity to unleash their creativity about their environmental paradise. We must confess that the creativity of these Earth Rangers is beyond measure and their passion and commitment is overwhelming.
Today, we profile Earth Rangers Suzzy, Miranda and Marvel who traveled into the future to bring out the beauty of nature in what can be described as their Environmental Paradise.
Fasting Journal - Three Days of Preparation
@stortebeker
When doing a fast, one of the first and most important things is not to jump right in. It's essential to prepare yourself for it, physically and mentally. That way your body won't be shocked by the experience of suddenly not having any food come in. It's also equally important for the mind to become fully aware of that it's for real. Imagine the typical new years resolution being conceived between a glass of champagne and a cigarette, that from the following day on one would become an ascetic saint sitting on a column. Of course it's never going to happen!
How Has Steem Impacted My Life
@whatamidoing
I’ve written on this topic before because the change has been so profound but since we are all doing it now and have a chance to share together, I might as well share again with some updated insight.
I came here looking for a place to find readers for stories I had written, potential patrons for my patreon. While I did find a few of those over the course of two years and a half years, that hardly became my focus here at the platform.
Steemit has served as a beautiful mirror for me, showing me what is inside myself, things I otherwise may have spent years discovering. It’s also been a stone for me to sharpen myself on and a well of resources waiting to be dug up. And while it’s always evolving and changing, it has remained a community full of really wonderful people.
Can My Happiest Memories Ruin My Life?
@eftnow
How happy memories can actually cause you significant challenges in your life today.
Sometimes, even more powerfully than traumatic ones!
We'll also explore how they can even lead to physical health conditions, as well as what you can do to resolve the impact.
This is often more complex than resolving the effects of traumatic events and working on these issues is quite different.
Searching for a Simpler Way of Life
@minismallholding
There is something appealing about turning back to nature and a simpler way of life. Yet is it really simpler? If we actually had to go back to living just on what nature provides, on what we grow, that would be a pretty tough existence. So why are many of us finding it so appealing?
Growing up I looked forward to getting “freedoms” to be able to do the things adults did, but those freedoms no longer feel like freedoms. Having a house with a mortgage ties you to your lender. That house will never be yours until the lender is paid off. Even once the loan is met, there are taxes on the property. If you don't pay those then government agents will eventually take the property from you and sell it for their tax cut.
Purslane, the die-hard plant that has more Omega-3 than fish
@fenngen
Imagine a plant that doesn’t need to be taken care of. A plant that needs very little water, grows on almost any soil and is incredibly nutritious. Imagine a plant that grows super fast and can be harvested many times throughout the year. Well, that plant exists.
After doing some research I’m convinced this plant is a true gift, proof of how much the Earth loves us. Hated by traditional production-based farmers, it’s a rebellious “weed” that even if cut, will grow roots right back into the ground and form a new plant.
How to Grow a Fig Tree from a Cutting | Propagate Figs for your Garden
@gardeningchannel
Don’t get caught paying for fruit trees, when you can easily clone them for free, Today I will show you how to grow a fig tree from a cutting that you can plant in your own garden. Fig trees are one of the easiest fruit trees to propagate, if you follow the right steps and exercise patience you will be able to clone your own fig trees, and there is nothing better then free fruit trees.
Random ponderings on women, beauty and the suitability for living life as a tag-team
@paradigmprospect
The topic has come up today through the finer lines of communication between my woman and myself. Watched the recent Tarantino movie last night andd as always I was amazed at the attractiveness that certain women have on me. I feel it is somehow integral to my being, an inseparable part of being a male human being.
I see lots of women that I dig but to me there is a very distinct line from who I see and feel attracted to visually and who I feel I want to spend time with on the other hand.
How low impact living might help solve my cost of living creep.
@revisesociology
Low-impact Living, it’s not just about the money
It’s also about sticking it to the man. Living with less money means less money supporting sub-optimal banking systems (to put it mildly).
It’s about being resilient – less reliant on a broken system to meet one’s needs – self-sufficiency is inflation resistant for example.
It’s also about enhancing one’s own creativity and DIY skills through self-sufficiency – finding creative ways of using what’s around you to meet your own needs.
It’s also been a life-long ambition of mine – skilling up to be more self-reliant.
The Peculiarity of State-Sanctioned Vice
@jacobtothe
Governments don't really cease to be moralistic busybody control freaks where they realize the benefits of political plunder trump the benenfits of prohibition-justified police state growth. While I enjoy a beer from time to time, I have the power to choose when and how much I drink. I don't need some authoritarian to send jack-booted thugs to dictate such matters to me. Even if I lacked self-control in the matter, it does not justify government intervention, regulation, taxation, and incarceration. If vices are bad, at least prohibition was honest authoritarianism. Now, governments condemn vice whilst demanding a cut of the action, too. That is absurd.
The comfort zone and how to get out of it...
@vieira
The so-called comfort zone is a mental state which is obtained by making the surrounding environment favorable to us in the short and medium term by making the mutable static, and turning the surrounding environment into a further extension of our body. While this can generate pleasure and ease in the short term, it eventually ends up stagnant and preventing progress, development and personal evolution.
