TribeSteemUp's Weekly Gems

in #tribesteemup6 years ago (edited)

Hello Beautiful people and welcome to another wonderful week here on Steemit.

It has been a bit quiet of late, but that has not affected the quality of posts/ articles being written by the members of TribeSteemUp. Once again I have a great selection of articles that will inform, inspire and empower you, Articles that really embody what TribeSteemUp stands for.

TribeSteemUp

The TribeSteemUp community, was created by @kennyskitchen over a year ago. It is a Community Abundance Generator which supports authors who write articles that look at ways in which we can become more empowered and create a more peaceful and free world.The authors that were chosen to become part of the TribeSteemUp community are all writing content of high quality, which are based on the following topics:

| Anarchy | Non-Violence | Philosophy | Veganism | Mindfulness |
| Community Empowerment | Love | Original Music | Esotericism |
| Healthy Recipes | Psychedelics | Truth | Permaculture |

The TribeSteemmUp community also has 8 Pillars/Principles that each member has agreed to adhere by and you can find The 8 Pillars of TribeSteemUp at the end of this post

I have 18 articles to share with you all today, articles that will get you questioning and rethinking. It is so important to keep questioning, to keep ourselves informed, that is our responsibility! If we are to make changes in our lives then we need to be informed and stay informed. For me life is all about learning, evolving and being mindful in all that we do. By coming together and engaging with one another we can all share our wisdom and empower one another. We can create the world in which we all wish to live. Happy reading and remember to show your appreciation by upvoting and commenting. You can go one step further by following the TribesteemUp Curation Trail, this way way you are supporting all the great authors who are creating quality content.

@erikaharris

When I was 7 -- living in rural Michigan -- I was rejected from an all-white slumber party.
My second grade classmate's mother didn't know I was black until I showed up on her doorstep the afternoon of the party. Her daughter invited me, so she was still innocent to racism. She didn't know that her household -- her parents -- were not prepared to have a little black girl stay overnight in their home.
I remember the silent car ride home, trying to understand WHY I had been turned around, while the rest of my white class-mates were able to stay. It was a very shitty feeling, that stayed with me for 40 years. Not because I wanted to hold on to something like that, but because I didn't realize how deeply I had internalized that event.

Common Antibiotics Can Cause Tendon Ruptures and Nerve damage?

@canadianrenegade

Have you ever had a freak tendon, joint or ligament injury that seemed to come out of nowhere? In today's video, I discuss how commonly prescribed antibiotics increase the risk of a tendon rupture.

Natural Medicine Contest WINNERS: How Has Natural Medicine Changed Your Life?

@naturalmedicine

This was incredibly, incredibly hard to judge, and in the end we thought there was nothing else to do but spread the winnings out amongst a handful we thought were outstanding. We judged these posts on a combination of things - the struggles people may have had overcoming a hardship, the way they illustrated their response both with language and with images, their ability to make us go 'wow!' and the relevance to the topic.
Honestly, we wish we could give all of you a bonus!

GLOBAL COOLING! No, wait... GLOBAL WARMING!! Ah, um... CLIMATE CHANGE!!! Just be afraid & give us more power!

@kennyskitchen

You may remember (I don't, I wasn't alive) a time when the media and "scientists" were raging about global cooling (Newsweek & Time Magazine), which then later became global warming, and has now morphed int Climate Change. This is a logical fallacy called special pleading, also referred to as moving the goalposts. When your argument can't hold up against counterpoints, you shift your argument until it eventually becomes unfalsifiable... Since the climate is ALWAYS changing, you would have to be an idiot to argue against Climate Change.

What Does Leadership Mean to You?

How-to-win-friends-and-influence-people.jpg

@makinstuff

I had this conversation with a buddy of mine this morning. He asked me if I could be available to stay at his place for a delivery of his new washer/dryer. I'm waiting for the guys that are delivering them to show up now.
Anyway....he is one of my buddies that has his act together and is quite successful. I would say he is an alpha male and will take charge of situations to get the job done. I would describe myself as the opposite. I will lead when I see there is a lack and in something I have proficiency in. I don't believe I am a natural alpha male leader and its something I've had to really work at in my life.

Letting in the Bliss - 6th Sense or 4D?

@indigoocean

We humans are so self-absorbed. That's the only thing that stands between us and a life of pure bliss.
Sure, there will always be things going on in the world at large, and in our individual lives, that we wish were different. But bliss doesn't depend on lack of friction in life. We can be facing that which we wish to change, and work to change it, and still be experiencing bliss throughout.
At least in theory we could. Most of us usually can't for this very reason: we're too caught up in our own story to have enough objectivity to experience bliss even when everything is going our way, let alone when things aren't!

Do We Need Food? A short personal story of a Lunar Eclipse Healing, Breathing Prana, Angels, Magic, Miracles and Transformation!

@eco-alex

This past week has been unusual, and also very special... I could even say enlightening! Some of you reading this will know that I have been struggling with a breathing problem for about 5 years, and even fund raised to get some help with it. I have also been dealing with some personal issues and life changes that have been very challenging and this past month or two have have not been fun! Life is a strange and special thing, and I find it fascinating how our thoughts and perspectives on things can change so quickly and so dramatically so that our view of our lives and the world can change in a heartbeat. Sometimes life can also bring us an Angel that appears in our lives and leaves us with magical and special gifts that can turn our world around.

Curing the Disease of Control with Taoism and Crypto-Anarchy

@sterlinluxan

Many people lust for control. They need to control objects, animals, and people. This need for domination leads some to use violence to sate their urges. Their blind obedience to control unlocks a pathology that destroys their thinking faculties. It turns them into animals, driven by a fetish for control. In some ways, this need to manage their surroundings can be seen as a disease.
This sickness has led to the rise of laws, monarchs, government, and the bloodied reign of the nation-state. These institutions leverage control as mass coercion and violence, and even enshrine control as a social necessity. Luckily, there is a counterbalance. There is a cure for the disease of control. It is the anarchist sentiment. Anarchists can heal humanity and transform society.

The Lunation in Leo 2018 -- understanding life's current trends

@enchantedspirit

Every year, the New Moon in Leo is a double dose of showmanship and pride. It can also be a double dose of ego power and self-confidence, which is great under the right circumstances, and necessary for healthy self-esteem. But it can be a fine line to walk, that territory between justified satisfaction with one's own power and talents -- and insufferable conceit.
So yes, whenever you get a chance -- do tell the world how wonderful you are ... but don't count on the applause to fuel your confidence. And for sure don't put on a show just for the sake of that alone!

Embrace The Animal Inside Of You!

@trucklife-family

One of the great things about Steemit, is that once you know where to look, you get to find so much inspiring content, which is being posted everyday. We get to read posts that inform us, motivate us and empower us. I have been active on here for 10 month now and I have been writing almost everyday, which also means that I get to check out what some of my favourite people have been writing about. I get to engage with them, explore their content with them, explore what that content brings up for me. I get to connect with all these amazing people and see the world through their eyes.

Monsanto’s Carcinogenic Glyphosate Is In Large Number Of Children’s Cereals

@johnvibes

According to a new study conducted by the non-profit Environmental Working Group (EWG), a large number of consumer products, including children’s cereal, contain the carcinogen Glyphosate. Glyphosate is, of course, the chemical that was recently found to cause cancer and other health problems. Glyphosate is the main ingredient in Monsanto’s herbicide Roundup, which has been slowly getting banned all over the world this year. The study reported that 31 out of 45 of the products that were tested contained levels of the chemical that are potentially unsafe.
These products ranged from snack foods and granola bars to children’s cereal. “We’re very concerned that consumers are eating more glyphosate than they know,” Scott Faber, vice president of government affairs at EWG told CBS News.

Breathing Is Like the World Changing Seasons

@riverflows

The breathe begins in the silence and in the darkness, just in that space where the last breath has finished.
Follow it's path. It grows like plants that push-up from wet and fecund soil in that transition point between winter and spring. The moments that you watch, eagerly, for signs of life. There is a moment, perhaps a week, where if you look closely you can see the tiny buds arrived on the fruit trees.They are so tiny that they are almost still. The bare branch whips in the chill winter air. Unless you stopped to look, to really look, you wouldn't know that they were actually about to burst into their is-ness.

Gatekeeping The Smart Grid

@maxigan

Ascension Transcension

@phillyc

What is the deal with this whole ascension thing? I agree in a sense that the planet is becoming more conscious, and also many individuals are waking up to a wider sense of things.
Many YouTubers talk about it, it's a big theme in the new age movement right now.
My one question with this whole thing is this:
Who is ascending?
and
Can we do away with that identity who is ascending? Always grasping for the next step, always stuck in a process of not quite there.

Feel Goods, Serotonin and the Lacto-Ferment Connection

@artemislives

Feel-Good hormones should be a major priority for all of us, right? After all, they are CREATED and CULTIVATED and don't just drop out of the sky on special occasions. So if you could simply make some small daily changes that made your serotonin levels sky-rocket, you would, right? After all, the signs and symptoms of serotonin deficiency are bleak, uncomfortable, painful and downright anti-social, to put it mildly! They include (but are not limited to):

Community Building is Not Communism! Is A Fear of 'Communism' Trapping Us Into Corporate Enslavement?

@ura-soul

Politics and government must surely be the most fertile ground for the growth of genuine conspiracy and crimes committed against large numbers of people. What we often don't see, though, is the way that these structures are used to deliberately psychologically manipulate in ways that are not so different to the way that con artists and even computer hackers do to us...
If I were someone seeking to dominate and control most other humans, I might use money as a tool to do that. If I have more money than everyone else, then I can stand a good chance of dominating them.

I want to know...

@mountainjewel

Do you ever take inventory of your life? To me, it's like cleaning. We sweep out from under the bed, clean out the closets, dust off the shelves, fix the leak and the squeak in the door and take a good look at all the junk we've swept up. It's been that kind of day here at Mountain Jewel. We've been asking the powerful question, what's all the stuff that we've been ignoring or avoiding?
Life can be incredibly overwhelming and this can lead us to run as far away as possible from that which overwhelms. Distractions are easy to find and can range from mindless and trivial to legitimately self destructive. In the end, we have the option to continue ignoring what is ours to do or to face it.

A big thank you to @hungryhustle for creating the amazing infographic of the 8 Pillars Of TribeSteemUp and For @eco-alex for creating the tribesteemup banner and logo.
