Cherry Blossom Festival At Expo’70 Commemorative Park

Hello everyone,

The cherry blossom festival in the Kansai region is finished, but it left a good impression.

Expo’70 Commemorative Park is a large park in Osaka. It was originally built for the 1970 World Expo in Osaka. After the World Expo, the grounds were converted into the Expo Commemorative Park and opened to the public. The grounds of the park have become a popular place for enjoying sports, nature, and musuems with family.

There are around 5,500 cherry blossom trees inside the park which you can enjoy both in the daytime and lit up at night. The cherry blossom festival goes from the late March to early April. This is one of Japan’s top 100 Cherry Blossom spots.

Today was nice. Many people came to the park to relax with partners, family and friends. All of the spaces were reserved with mats and tents. I saw some groups that brought food and beverages too. But no worries about food and drinks, as there are many kinds of food, dessert, and drinks that you can buy.

I remember there was a kitchen utensils event that day. The products and tools were on sale. There were bowls, plates, chopsticks, spoons, and other things.

I strolled around the park for about 30 minutes and then went back home because it was very crowded. I felt a little hungry so I stopped at Expo City, opposite the park. I headed to the food court area to check out the various restaurants and food. I tried the Kaow Man Kai and Tomyum set from a Thai restaurant. It was a quite good and reasonably priced.

The Expo’70 Commemorative Park has seasonal flowers such as tulips, poppies and azaleas. Check it out!

WOW! Very wonderful festival with plenty of magnificent cherry blossoms! The statue of giant bird is really cute and amazing.

There are a lot of things to do and to see. Thanks so much for sharing. ;)

The statue of Giant bird is Tower of the Sun which it was a symbol of Japan World Exposition 1970.

Thanks a lot for providing me more information about the statue of Giant bird..... It's really great symbol! :)
