Arima Onsen: Famous Hot Spring In The Kansai Region

Hello everyone,

In this post I’d like to talk about hot springs, also known as onsen in Japan. One thing that you should do when you visit Japan is bathe in a hot spring. Many countries aren't used to being naked in public hot springs. My country's people are also shy about it. I've heard that hot springs are a medical treatment for some symptoms and make skin beautiful.

Arima Onsen is located in Hyogo Prefecture, a well-known hot spring town about two hours from Osaka by train. The town is surrounded by mountains and forests with natural hot springs and a history of more than 1,000 years.

Although Arima Onsen covers a tiny area of just 1 kilometer, there are various shops, restaurants, and plenty of hot springs along the Yumotozaka District.

Arima onsen has 2 kinds of bathhouses - gold onsen and silver onsen. I walked through the town and stopped at Kin no Yu which has both an indoor public bathhouse and outdoor free foot bath. I didn't spend much time here so I just did a foot bath. I think the hot spring water helped me relax and relieve my fatigue. Actually, the water is clear but it contains a lot of iron, which makes the water kind of golden brown. I didn't walk to Gin no Yu, AKA the Silver Onsen.

While I strolled down the alleyways I saw an interesting souvenir - crispy pancakes. Most shops sell it. I tasted it but didn't purchase any. 😆😆

If you have time, don't forget to experience a Japanese onsen.

FYI:

Most public hot springs in Japan don't allow people with tattoos.

I can't remember all things. But I recall the ryokan It's antiquity Japanese house. Trees are around a hot spring. Feels like I was in the middle age of Japan. Also In the middle of town, there is a public hot spring for the foot. Put the feet on public spring all fatigues were gone haha
Maybe I will post about the trip if I found photos on my old phone
