The Left is STILL up in arms, going nuts, over Trump. Many are still obsessed with the idea of him getting impeached (or worse), consequences be damned.
And there’s a very simple reason why. He is their “red-headed stepdad.”
There’s a flawed perception government is the head of the household of “America, the Family.” That whoever is in office is the parental figure. And, like Luke, it’s a hard pill to swallow that their Vader is actually their daddy, too. But it’s all a fantasy.
Yes, this little newsflash should cheer them up…
America is not a family, and government is not a parent.
To many on the Left, strangely, this idea that government is not the omnipresent arbiter of all that is Good & Evil is simply unacceptable. The infringement upon the family structure, for example, is a “fundamental government right,” they claim.
As if we all, at some point, were spit out of the gnarled womb of D.C. -- and we must NEVER forget our where our umbilical cords were once juiced.
Over the years, they’ve exerted this incredibly dangerous opinion wherever possible.
A few familiar examples…
In Michigan, doctors told one mother they were required to have a private conversation with her daughter about sex (and drugs). And she was forbidden to be in the room. No opt-outs.
In 2011, the Gordon Commission published a report stating, "The Common Core Standards, and the rethinking of assessments that they are fostering, provide an opportunity to challenge (the) deeply held belief in local control."
In California, you’ll recall, “Baby Sammy” was kidnapped because the parents took him out of one hospital seeking a different opinion before agreeing to open-heart surgery.
And in my home state of Ohio, an Amish family was forced to flee the country because an appeals court ruled... the beliefs and convictions of the parents can’t nullify the rights of the State to protect the child.
The State wanted the daughter on chemo and a cocktail of drugs -- the parents disagreed. The conversation should’ve ended there. But, increasingly, it doesn’t.
And those are only a few notable examples of a seemingly endless list on the Net. (The Overruled documentary, if you haven’t seen it, is a good overview of government invasion on parental rights.)
The vast majority of parents in America assume they have fundamental rights as parents to decide what’s best for their kids.
Unfortunately, plenty a busybody would disagree.
Why? Because they have a cancerous belief that “society” is one big family, and government sits on the big family couch as the parent.
But we must fight this fantastical idea that government is our caregiver.
So, come out from the basement, Leftists. It's OK.
Trump is not your father.
