Love him or loathe him, Donald Trump is without doubt one of the most-if not THE most-controversial characters in the world.
Since Mr Trump started out in his business ventures many years ago, he has always faced tough opposition, he has always stood up to criticism, stood up for himself, and always fought back.
He has this uncanny ability, of getting people to listen to his utterings. Whether that be as a Trump supporter, or as one of the MANY people who seem to constantly 'have the knives out' for him, irrespective what he does/has done.
The above picture speaks volumes, the mainstream media would lead you to believe that the whole world is of the opinion that he is 'The big bad wolf' and he is a vile human being, maybe you think that too and that's fine! What i want to talk about though goes a little deeper than just opinion...
Since Donald Trump rolled into the Whitehouse after the Historic (and rather entertaining!) battle between himself and Mrs Clinton, he has faced a barrage of abuse, don't get me wrong here, he does bring a lot of it on himself. But in a day and age where we are force-fed the narrative of being respectful, and you can't say this, you can't say that, i'm offended by this, you cant call me that etc...how does this unscripted 'general rule of thumb' not apply to Mr Trump?
Demonised by so many people, so many media outlets have never got a positive word to say about ANYTHING HE EVER DOES!
Do people actually follow politics and find out what he has actually done for America since he came to power? I guess not, as if they did, they'd probably be very surprised indeed!
I follow politics worldwide, although i'm from the UK, i do take an interest in American politics. Mainly because what ever happens in the USA tends to have a potential global impact on the rest of the world. I'd also say i'm not a Trump supporter per se, however credit where its due, the guy has done an absolutely sterling job since he came into power. Their economy is tip-top, he stands up for his people, tries to get a fair deal for his citizens and his country from every angle, tries to stop very bad people coming into the country, yet is condemned for everything he does?
Just yesterday we witnessed an absolutely historical moment when Trump met with North Korean supremo Kim-jong-un, and we have FINALLY got a very precarious situation (hopefully) resolved, which nobody thought was possible just a short time ago.
Yes there have been mass shootings etc, life is never straightforward unfortunately. But was there not mass shootings under the Obama administration? Sure there was, but Mr Obama never faced the wrath of the media in similar fashion to that ofTrump.
I like Barack Obama, i actually think he's one of the best public speakers there is, he seems like a real nice genuine guy too, so no wonder he was popular, but nice guys aren't always what are needed- particularly if you are the most powerful person in the world!
Being totally honest, yes Trump is most certainly a larger than life character, and what he says (or tweets!) isn't always practical. He has had his fair share of controversy over the years and I certainly don't agree with everything he has ever done. That said, i sincerely wish we had a leader like Trump here in the UK over the choices we have currently!
To summarise, all i am saying here is to put personal feelings aside and judge someone on what they have achieved/looking to achieve. Granted this probably depends on whether politically you are left/right/centre.
To go against the supposed majority here, I think you could do a hell of a LOT worse than Donald Trump.
I'd love to hear your thoughts on this?
