Legal scholar on why the Arpaio pardon is "troubling"

What do you think about this decision? Is this dangerous? Joe Arpaio didn't comply with the law but got pardoned almost immediately. It appears Trump is aligning himself with the law and order "tough on crime" faction within the government.

The judge determines the validity of the law. If the judge says it's not constitutional then you're typically not supposed to enforce it. Now if you want to contest the law then it goes up to the Supreme Court which again is the ultimate arbitrator. Law enforcement doesn't have the role of interpreting the meaning of the law.

While I don't know the details of the circumstances in the Arpaio case I will say Arpaio does not have a good track record with regard to human rights.

This is a tragic and twisted hitpiece in the pile of hitpieces which have been mounting since the establishment realized they needed to take Trump's presidential run seriously, and I would be ashamed to post it for any reason other than to point out its utterly partisan maliciousness.
