The constitution is Crystal Clear when it comes to what would happen if Trump broke the law. The same thing that happens to everybody else, according to Article 1, Section 3, Clause 7of the Constitution (two things here are clear ) Judgement in Cases of Impeachment shall not extend further than to removal from Office, disqualification to hold and enjoy any Office of honor, Trust or Profit under the United States: but (and here is the good stuff) the Party convicted shall nevertheless be liable and subject to Indictment, Trial, Judgement and Punishment, according to Law." There it is no interpretation needed. No one is above the law. It's that simple.
First, Trump could be removed from office by Impeachment, or not, the constitution doesn't require one to support the other and just because that fact isn't spelled out doesn't mean he is immune to the same due process everyone else must face if they break the law. There is no reason to speculate there is some question as to how the Supreme Court might rule on this, there is only one acceptable answer, if you break the law you will face equal justice under the law. Senator Orrin Hatch, the Utah Republican once said, “This great nation can tolerate a president who makes mistakes,” and declared. “But it cannot tolerate one who makes a mistake and then breaks the law to cover it up.” This is precisely why we are where we are at this point in time. Not Donald Trump nor any of his lawyers are constitutional scholars. Rudy Giuliani as Trump's partner in crime is at least smart enough to understand the only defense is to attack the system, arguing Trump is somehow immune to Indictment, Trial, Judgement and Punishment, according to Law because innocence is not a defense for them at this point. Only leaving an attack the FBI and some half-assed notion the law doesn't apply to them.
