My General political views
I do not consider myself a Patriot to America, a country that calls itself one of the best countries in the world but doesn't offer universal health care for it citizens or free college, not to mention the middle class is shrinking every day. It also seems harder for the average Joe or Jane to go to college and get a good job to support his or her family. I appreciate countries that treat their citizens fairly such as Sweden, Norway, and Canada. In my opinion, the American dream is dead!
What is he doing to Divide Us?
Since Donald Trump took office last year he has done nothing but stir up the pot by encouraging racism and hate in this country. Trump has bashed the LGBT community by attempting to ban Transgender people from the military, announcing this on Twitter in an unprofessional manner as he normally does. Not a day goes by I don't hear something outrageous that comes from his mouth calling other countries around the world "shitholes countries ". Never have I heard a president use such disgusting language. In my opinion, a person in power should never act in such a way. A prime example are Trump’s verbal attacks of Kim Jong-Un, the leader of North Korea. Trump has continued to demean him and call him names such as “Rocketman” in order to antagonize him and cause further tension in the region. In regards to his own cabinet, another example is Trump obstructing justice as seen by the lack of cooperation of his staff through various investigations and over 20 Whitehouse employees either resigning or being fired since he was sworn into office.
The Outrage Is Everywhere
Billionaire Tom Steyer ran a campaign of commercials spending over 20 million dollars in order to attempt to impeach Trump. These ads ran everywhere from mainstream TV networks as well as through online channels such as YouTube. The outrage is here in America but has spread across the globe as Trump's disregard towards other people and nations has been very apparent. The 1st ever Women March was in Washington D.C on January 21st (year of first women’s march) with an estimated half a million people attending. A shock wave of anger, frustration, and uncertainty has taken the globe by storm creating other sister marches in other cities and nations. The New York march had an estimated attendance of 200,000 people this year. We the people we are upset and we want change!

My Thoughts
This presidency is like watching a reality show that has four seasons. Hopefully it will get canceled before the 4th season. All jokes aside, I used to think the United States was on a slow journey towards progressive change. Instead, I have seen that there is still a lot of hate lurking in the shadows of this country. Trump has shifted the political climate as we know it, pushing us further from equality as it now feels like we took 1000 steps backwards and are now back in the 1960s. We as human beings can't seem to agree to treat one another fairly regardless of race, religion sexual orientation, gender, ETC... I believe that those like Trump shouldn't have had a snowballs chance of winning. However, with the broken system of the Electoral College in existence, I'm now not surprised that this occurred. As history would tell us major change has to happen in order to make an impact on this country and make us stronger overall. Bernie Sanders probably would have done the opposite of Trump if he had been elected. In my opinion, I believe this situation gets America to realize people in 2020 will be more involved in the next election. I may try to stick around for a bit depending on this president actions but otherwise, I may head over to Europe. Only time will tell. Goodbye America, hello Norway!
