Life has poised man to have confidence in what he sees, what he hears, and what he can feel, and these are the reason why each every one of us seeks to build confidence in something, and when that confidence is actualized; it becomes a treasure for such one.
Today we are starting a topic on how Christ Jesus has become immeasurable treasure for mankind, by the grace of God; we are going to break this topic in four (4) parts so that we can grasp them bit by bit.
No one can really treasure anything without seeing the value; that’s why many do not believe in God and so many who believe in God do not believe in his Christ because they don’t have a proper understanding of who Christ is neither were they able to see the innumerable riches of Christ Jesus in the saints. Let’s start with this scripture that says: If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory. (Col 3:1-4, KJV)
Can you see that no one will value what we’re about to communicate except those which were dead but now risen with Jesus, we are risen with Jesus but yet hid in him still; so if we are to manifest at all on earth; it must be Jesus that should manifest because we are hid in him in God; now Christ becomes my treasure of whom without, I am nothing! Jesus went further to say; I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit. Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you. Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. (John 15:1-5, KJV)
The will of God for us is to manifest Christ, minding the things of Christ, Jesus Christ is the treasure, there is on other, and that is why God has brought us into this world. But being human we found it difficult to walk by faith rather we like to walk by sight; how can someone say that meat (material things of life) is not important? Yet Jesus said; life is much more than meat. You and I know that meat facilitates all that we do here on earth, even without eating you run the danger of putting the tabernacle (your body) down, the tabernacle is what is carrying the spirit so how can you say meat is not important when everything we do involves meat. But he is trying to say something to us, now the issue is; rather than focusing on the real meat (Christ the treasure) men has gotten it all wrong; because of sin man is now focusing on the meat that perishes and because we have found out that this meat is what is necessary to sustain man here on earth; man is gunning for this meat like non other thing else! Man has become so natural that anyone suggesting otherwise apart from the things of this natural life is talking rubbish, that is why any time we hear about a business opportunity our ears are open; yes that is natural to man. What I want you to understand is to realize that Jesus says that life is much more meat, have you been able to appreciate that treasure, have you been able to understand that this treasure (Christ in you) is your possession even here on earth? Jesus is that treasure, an eternal treasure and because it is eternal; it supersedes every other thing because what is important to you and l as far as this life is concerned is to obtaining this treasure and until this treasure becomes an obsession; you know, when one is looking for a treasure, it becomes an obsession. This particular life that men are struggling for is an empty life but because the enemy want to use that to create an impression that those up there are enjoying life, but not knowing already; most of them have seen the futility of it all but yet they still live in sham so that you can be enticed.
We are talking about an eternal treasure that will guaranty you and l eternal joy, joy in eternity. Our struggles in life as believers is just because we are yet to understand this, that is why we struggle, the only thing we can see is the same things that ordinary men considers big deal, one thing about being a believer is that many times we try to deny the fact but we can only deny the fact to our own detriment. The fact is that those things that we see; indeed they are big deal. You may want to ignore it that you are not going to be moved by these things that you see in this life but wait until you see those things in their glory, do you know everything has its glory? There is a difference between riding a volks wagon and Lexus or hummer jeep, traveling with a boat and a yacht? Do not say hummer is not a big deal rather as a believer, weigh it. If it is not a big deal Christ won’t have died to save us from the fetters of this life; it is a big deal. The scripture says you should weigh Christ the treasure and the things of this life. God trusts that by his spirit which he deposited in you, you will make a wise choice by choosing that which is eternal rather than that which is only temporary and it’s only when we’ve come to this point that we can begin to move forward. Why we struggle so many times is because we are in denial of the truth, the truth is that what we see is a big deal, am not saying you should deny it, but Gods word says weigh it. You are left with options here between the love of God through Christ and the world, what you are expected to do is to choose the one that will be profitable to you, that’s what it is but because we are in denial the enemy will capitalize on it and take advantage of us; and that's what we do not want. It is not about us, we cannot do anything by our strength.
Though we are in the world but we are not of this world, and they that use this world, as not abusing it: for the fashion of this world passeth away. (1Cor 7:31, KJV)
