Hi there,
To get the boring stuff out of the way:
I'm Craig Uyeno- a Torontonian in my second year at Tufts, and pursuing an economics major and finance minor. Unfortunately, I will be unable to attend the first 2-4 classes, as my teammate, Hayden Smith, and I are on the hockey team, which practices during our class time. So, we will be following along online for the first month.
About my interest and experience with blockchain:
This summer, I worked at the Chamber of Digital Commerce in Washington DC (https://digitalchamber.org), which is the largest blockchain trade group in North America. I have also worked in a research/writing role with the Internet of Services Token (https://iost.io), a blockchain platform that seeks to address some of the scalability issues of Ethereum. I would be happy to speak with anyone about my work experience in the blockchain industry, and would love to learn more; it is still rapidly evolving!
Also, an interesting article that I came across this weekend about Bitcoin's trends given today's economic conditions:
https://www.cnbc.com/2019/01/26/bitcoin-investors-are-running-from-crypto-to-invest-in-this-commodity.html
Lastly, for those that don't know, Steemit (this website) is a blockchain powered blogging website that uses its native token, Steem, to reward publishers and curators. I definitely want to learn more about the token economics behind Steem, but thought this would be a relevant platform.
See you all soon,
Craig
