I hope you are right. It‘s difficult to imagine that new borders are drawn and new states created though. If things develop that way, Iran‘s regime should fall and some western parts of it could join Azerbaijan.

The borders of the Middle East were drawn by an Englishman (Sykes) and a Frenchman (Picot) and many of them are nonsensical. This is part of why it has been such a mess for a long time.
It is high time that the borders were redrawn to reflect the ethnic groups living in a place rather than forcing people who hate each other into the one country. It virtually guarantees brutal dictatorships and wars as this is the only way to hold such States together.
Why else did a mild mannered ophthalmologist become a mass murderer - it was in the job description handed down from his father.
The idea that borders are sacrosanct and cannot be changed is very European and completely at odds with the reality of human history and events today.
Isn´t that an American invention with the so-called rules-based order?
