In popular music, a diminished chord is commonly used as a chord to pass between chords. However, major and minor 9th chords can also be used as passing chords. In this tutorial, I show how I use passing chords. As well, I give tips on why these chords resolve so effectively.
Though this tutorial is using neo soul to showcase passing chords, this is a concept that can be used in many styles of music.
