The Division was actually a pretty rad game in retrospect. I never gave it enough of a chance. I wish they would combine The Division and Destiny now that would be amaze balls. I love the FPS controls of Destiny but the quest structure loot and world not so much. At the end of Destiny 2's campaign you can overlook the city and all I imagine every time I look down at it is can we get a game where we go down in to that and have some intense urban combat.... Now watching this I know I'm onto something!
I don't disagree with your points I feel like Destiny was more of like a party member game that was bred from Borderland series. Don't get me wrong I like what they've done but the division is still my favorite. I mean it captures modern-day as of right now this could happen to us biological warfare and Civil War in the streets. Not to mention being able to customize your character to almost an endless need. It did not used to be a necessity to me and now it almost seems second nature. I need it and the division offers this to me in full retrospect. I want to take the time to say if you haven't played the storyline you should I'd really listen to it. Make sure you collect all the Intel because it tells the story of individual civilians and more. My love of this game is not just for the gameplay as a fellow game designer I know what it takes to make a game and this is a good game.
Oh ya I got pretty much every single player trophy for the PS4 version but gave up hunting rogue agents as I kept getting rocked. Maybe its because I played the game quite a while after release so people were already geared and knew the Dark Zone areas but it was too frustrating and I gave up on my platinum trophy. I totally agree that the Division story is awesome. I love that Contagion meets 28 Days Later meets 12 Monkeys vibe. And the game world is so rich and dense. The only thing I really want from Destiny is the gameplay. At least on PS4 the controls in the Division felt really clunky but in Destiny they are sublime. If everything about the Division stayed the exact same except they changed the controls up to be as good as Destiny it would be magical. There's another Ubisoft game that's 3rd person that offers better shooting too, it's not as good as Destiny in my opinion but better that The Division which is Ghost Recon Wildlands. The game itself is nowhere as good as The Division but the shooting is the best I've experienced on a console 3rd person shooter. Even if they just incorporate that into The Division 2 it will likely be on my list for game of the year contenders.

Its so exciting to be on the ground floor. I think most people don't realize how lucky we are to be a part of this as a community. Things of this magnitude are usually only available to the elite. If the power of the community could be harnessed the growth could be exponential
