Probably more than a year ago I drew a picture of Maya from the fighting-game series 'Killer Instinct' (which is my favorite game series and original arcade version is my favorite game of all time.) Once I started getting somewhat comfortable using Adobe After Effects I decided to make an animated digital drawing.
As you can see, I wanted to give a rain-forest type look to the animation with the running water, wind blowing tree branches, mist and fog, as well as light rain falling. Not to long ago I was looking at the original picture and noticed that none of those effects were in the picture. I didn't want to go overboard but I did at least want to add mist to the picture. Here is a short tutorial on how to add mist to a digital picture (or any picture or photograph) using Adobe Photoshop.
