The British again took a great interest in the American series "Friends", the final episode of which only in Great Britain was watched by more than 10 million people (in the USA - 52.5 million) in 2004. After the end of 2017, the Netflix service added a well-known sitcom to its database, interest in it began to grow dramatically. Against the background of this company YouGov decided to conduct a survey, during which she tried to find out the attitude of the British to the main characters.
The study showed that two-thirds of the British saw at least a few episodes of the series. The leader among the "friends" was the character of actor Matthew Perry Chandler. The character is loved by 20% of respondents. The strongest likings of the audience are also the main characters Joey (17%), Phoebe (15%) and Rachel (13%). The most unpopular were Ross and Monica - the characters scored only 6% and 5% of the vote. At the same time, men like Joey (20% vs. 14%), and women - Phoebe (18% vs. 11%).
The authors of the study did not ignore the plot details of the series. For example, in one episode Ross changes Rachel with another woman. When asked how they treat this, 46% of the men said that in such a situation, the fact of Ross's betrayal was acceptable, and 40% of women condemned his infidelity.
