Agatha All Along – Spoiler Free Review

The MCU fun continues. Agatha All Along is the long awaited and fun sequel to WandaVision. Agatha (played brilliantly by Kathryn Hahn) is still trapped under Wanda's spell, but finally manages to break free and she's ready for a new adventure. Going down the Witches' Road. Also good luck trying to get that song out of your head, even after months it is still part of my playlist. Jac Schaeffer who is the showrunner on WandaVision is at the helm of this show and it shows. None of the horrors of what happens to Wanda in Multiverse of Madness. This show is brilliant and full of fun, witchcraft, style, great writing and filming and great everything.

In the show, Agatha gathers a coven to walk the Witches' Road. The prize at the end is what you most desire and Agatha desires her powers back. If you remember she lost her powers at the end of WandaVision. Lilia Calderu (played by the brilliant Patti LuPone), Jennifer "Jen" Kale ([played by Sasheer Zamata), Alice Wu-Gulliver (played by Ali Ahn), Mrs. Hart (played by Debra Jo Rupp), a mysterious teenager with no name (Played by Joe Locke) and another mystery witch (played brilliantly by Aubrey Plaza) are her new cover that join her down the road. I knew from all of the spoilers all over the internet who is playing who and I still had a great time. If you somehow can, I do recommend avoiding spoilers because some of them are really surprising. Well, Aubrey Plaza's character is surprising. As you can image with such a cast, the acting is phenomenal. Just brilliant top notch.

The show itself has big WandaVision vibes. Probably because each episode has a theme. Not sitcoms, because Jac Schaeffer doesn't use the same trick twice, but you will notice the esthetics that changes as the characters pass down the road. I loved the connection tissue of this show. It was so much fun. The wonderful esthetics also fits the episode as the road presents many challenges that our characters must pass in order to survive the road and get their prize. The obstacles were very original and fun and appropriately dangerous. It was super fun to watch.

Did I mention that "The Ballad of the Witches' Road" is epic? I loved it so much. It shows up three times during the show so don't think you'll escape the song. I highly recommend the "Agatha x Gaga – Bloody Mary x the Ballad of the Witches' Road". It makes this epic song even more epic. I can't stop listening to it.

As much as I loved WandaVision, I was really disappointed by the ending. It just felt like another generic CGI fight with no big reveals and Elizabeth Olsen's acting saved the ending. As well as the emotional impact that it had. This show delivered on the reveals. Sure, it might have been spoiled beforehand, but at least no big hinted theory remind on the cutting floor. Here we got what we wanted. Both the amazing emotional ending, plus the cool twist ending. Also the show didn't promise more than it can deliver so it had that going for it.

I don't care how disappointed you are in Marvel you have to watch this show. It will send you back to the Marvel glory days.

I want a sequel to this show and I am so sad that we are not getting one.
